  1. I saw them with Thrice and Thursday back in like 2006 or whatever. Bert from The Used came out and did a song with Thursday too.

Was that tour where coheed had the giant guillotine on stage?

  4. Honestly I don’t remember anything about it other than Bert came out and I touched Claudio’s hair. Ha

This is getting to the point where songs I wasn’t in love with are clicking 100%. Blood has such a classic Coheed chorus, and is a welcome breather after the onslaught of everything before it. If the bridge was slightly more interesting it’d be top 5 on the album.

Strongly considering looking for that leak now... Even though I know I have that vinyl and the box set coming next month. I told myself I was just going to read opinions, as there's no harm in that, right? But this thread has hit my will power really hard with all the excitement

Yeah it has a great chorus. I wish the rest of it I found as interesting. Still giving it time though.

Jealous of everyone getting to hear this. A month is a long time away. I mentally had this for end of may so it’s going to seem longer!

I tried to listen but the 128 sounds like garbage unsurprisingly

Same here. I think the push back is what is making the wait so hard.

I hope I’m not hyping it up too much. I’ve been a huge Coheed fan for… 17 years now? I’ve had my fair share of critiques/complaints for every album since GA:1, whether fair or unfair. I’m not going to say it’s their best since then, that’s a huge YMMV, but it’s the most satisfying first impression one has given me since GA:1. I do think it’s the album that is the most focused and well executed version of modern day Coheed. It will come down to if you like what they were going for.

quick breakdown of how those albums fared in my eyes:
NWFT: I wanted GA:1 pt. 2, and was slightly let down that The End Complete wasn’t the epic that The Willing Well was. Love it for what it is now.
YOTBR: a challenging one for me. Tried to love it so many times. I love about half to 3/4 of it now, after finally accepting it doesn’t work for me all the way through.
Afterman: really high highs, but the inconsistent production choices and split in half release with filler on both sides kept it from top tier for me. Cut about 5 songs and choose clean or more raw production and it’s killer.
TCBTS: a clear detour. Glad he got it out of his system.
Vaxis I: sounds like them writing a Coheed album that the fans wanted, but listening now it seems a little autopilot. Thankfully this band on autopilot is still great. Most songs are 1.5 minutes too long. A clear symptom of being self produced.

Doing a discog run but each time I pause to do something else the choruses to either Beautiful Losers or Love Murder One creep into my head and makes me want to listen to those instead.

I legitimately love the TV show and the music. I may or may not watch it when the kid isn't even in the room.

There is some chill indie music in it. I seem to recall an episode where they find a lake in a park or something having some good songs when my kids were watching
