had the best workout ever yesterday listening to this. perfect running music.

  6. Makes sense they have a third guitarist since I think Eric handles a lot of the electronic stuff live

I could be wrong but I'm almost positive it's the other guitarist in Adventures lol

Just getting through my first listen of this because I am super slow and behind everyone. I really dig this record though. I don't really know much of their past work, but I am interested in hearing how they got to this point to make this kind of record. I like that it breathes and that the quiet/slower parts are still memorable. But, Real is a straight up throw down of a song. Great start to 2017.

I was super excited for this album... I expected greatness from it

    but

it just hasn't clicked... I know I'm in the minority here, but I feel like something is missing... maybe the songwriting is not as strong? like there's a lot of style, but substance not that much... I don't know...

    also

THIS IS REAL NOW MOTHERFUCKER is just hilarious

anyway... I'll give it time to reveal itself because I love everything else they've put out before

This was great to have for inauguration weekend. Something heavy, angry, crushing.

This was the first album to give me goosebumps in a while. This is so impressive that roadrunner let them make this record.

Looking at Roadrunner's list current and past artists it doesn't seem that crazy, really. But it still is cool they get to make the record they want.

I just think it's really great that they have bands like Killswitch Engage, The Amity Affliction and Code Orange (all diverse) on their label, especially being a label that is sort of the gateway between mainstream and indie.

I mean outside of "Bleeding in the Blur" and "Ugly" it is a very abrasive, commercially unfriendly record. It's pretty cool that it came out on a major label

Really hope Roadrunner continues to sign bands like them and Turnstile

Count me in the same boat. I gave the album a few listens and just thought the whole thing was pretty mediocre. Outside of ugly, there really wasn't a track on the album that stuck with me.

I loved the first few songs and the closer, however the rest bored me so much. It's cool that they're doing a lot of things that haven't been done in the scene afaik. At the other hand, the transitions between their hardcore side and the industrial touches aren't executed very well, and instead often kill the momentum. The tough bro lyrics and the incessant breakdowns bring it down really hard. I just don't think the songwriting is that good, especially regarding the hardcore/nu-metal-y riffs.

Yeah I don't like the "tough guy" lyrics at times either but otherwise still really like this album.

  20. Just watched some live sets on youtube, they are wild. Makes me appreciate their breakdown driven songs a bit more.

Finally got around to this. I feel like I'm just over this band. A couple songs were cool, bleeding in the blur, ugly, hurt goes on, dream2. A lot of it I feel like blended together. They're far more interesting as an industrial band than a hardcore one imo

  25. They'd be better without the breakdowns, unless they try to make them different enough each time.
