The rumors of Kanye and MCR joining the lineup start to make sense now. Have a feeling MCR, if they play, will be teamed up with Swedish House Mafia as co-headliners on the main stage.

What was the background/drama about MCR for Coachella 2020 and why it never came to fruition?

 

They were booked as a headliner for 2020 and were asked to take a sub-headliner spot once GV was able to lock in Rage.

MCR refused to take a sub-headline spot so Coachella left them keep their headliner fee and just removed them from the lineup entirely.

 

I'd be shocked but happy if MCR. I expect lineup early January

 

I would love MCR to headline. It'll jump start the reunion roll out earlier instead of waiting for the Fall tour.

Rumor was GV didn't want to burn bridges with MCR (GV was also promoting the Shrine comeback show) so they agreed to pay them their fee even though they were being replaced on the lineup.

Also, the Taylor chatter is starting to pick up. Rumors she's been pitched a headlining spot with a concert film/live album component as part of the deal.

 

Every year I tell myself Im gonna go to Coachella, and never do. But Taylor headlining might REALLY get me off my ass and cross country.

 

Would kill for Taylor to replace Travis, that would be the ultimate glow up
