So tell me something awesome Supporter

Have seen Frank Ocean and Blackpink both and they are incredible to watch live, I feel too tired for festivals these days but yeah they'll both draw plenty, people are definitely underestimating the money hardcore Blackpink fans spend without also getting to see other artists and getting to enjoy a California trip

I relate Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean to LOTR... I know about them, but I have zero desire to listen to anything by them.

    But BLACKPINK is cool AF.

It’s wild to think that it would probably be BTS as the headliner instead of Blackpink maybe if they weren’t just doing the army stuff.

And yes I know the Coachella owner is a huge Blackpink fan.

I do gotta say those headliners wouldn’t really convince me this is the year i need to go again (besides Frank) but it is obviously smart bookings. I don’t listen to Bad Bunny much but I think it would be a lot of fun to see him. Blackpink is fine I don’t feel a strong way either way. If either played Lolla I’d be excited to see them but if there was a big conflict (like Paramore vs one of them) it wouldn’t be a hard choice

Frank Ocean is one of the best and most acclaimed artists of his generation, y'all are wild lol

Exactly how I feel. Acts I’d 100 percent see and enjoy but not needle movers outside of Frank. And I’ll keep lying to myself that Frank will play on the east coast again so I’ll keep holding out for that.

Frank Ocean hasn’t clicked for me…I’ve tried a few times but then again I’m past the Coachella demo…never heard of Blackpink before and Bad Bunny I’m sure would be a fun show and I’d def attend his set just bc I’d never go to his show or listen to his music otherwise

There are a lot of Frank songs that I enjoy, but the pedestal that people put him on his wild.
I think it's just the mysterious factor because of his lack of touring/lack of press that make people so nuts for him.

Just realized Frank Ocean hasn’t played the NYC area since 2017 when he headlined Panorama which is wild. Definitely a good booking on Coachella’s part.

  19. Haha good for him. I just don’t ever find myself going for that style of music.

Hard disagree personally. The mystery factor is definitely part of his “mystique” or whatever, but there’s plenty of artists who do that who don’t get anywhere near his level of praise. If anything, a lot of fans like myself get annoyed at the long waits for no new music. If he hadn’t dropped two of the best albums of the 2010s very few people would still care.

That’s fair, I’d say it’s at least worth a trying imo though if you listen to a lot of genres and are open-minded. A lot of his stuff has a much stronger indie/singer-songwriter feel to it than pure R&B, his lyrics and songwriting are pretty unique for the genre and that’s largely why he’s so acclaimed. I was more commenting on you saying you hadn’t heard any of his stuff, obviously if you’ve tried it and it’s not your thing that’s different.

  23. A couple months ago, I mentioned that I’d never heard a Slipknot song before and everyone was throwing a bunch of songs at me in disbelief and I listened to a couple and none of them even sounded remotely familiar. So at least I recognize “Thinkin About You” haha. I don’t listen to the radio very often so all that kind of stuff is just not on my radar.

It’s kinda funny to think Coachella has basically turned me into a huge fan of the electronic/dance genre because it’s all I ever listen to now.

I am super excited to see who they get for this year in those genres.
