Climax (Gaspar Noé, 2018) Movie

One of my favorite critics shockingly thinks this is one of the very best films at the fest so far, so I’m even more excited. Don’t love Irreversible or Enter the Void but was super into Love.

 

Love all of his films to different extents. Excited for this.

Love is my least favorite, but it was still pretty interesting to see a 3D cumshot at the screen in an indie theater full of old people.

I know it will be incredibly fucked up, I expect nothing less, but I hope Noe dials off the super taboo subject matter for just one movie and let all the other things that make his movies good shine.

This is an absolute trip. Never cared much for Gaspar Noe outside of Love, but this takes his craft to a whole new level. The film is pretty much a structureless nightmare. Literally do not watch it if you're not feeling 100%, because I was feeling off from not eating enough and the film sent my head spinning. The dance sequences in the beginning are outstanding.

 

When/where can this been seen? Is it just in the festival circuit right now?

This was incredible unsettling, but what else would you expect from Noe?

"Structureless nightmare" is a good way to describe this, but in the best way possible.
