Yeah I believe they broke up quietly a couple years back. Their frontman Jesse Clasen has a current project called Foreign Air.

Also I'd VERY much recommend listening to HRVRD's albums... they only have two, and both are phenomenal... quite different from each other, too.

 

I can't believe how underrated they still are, except among diehard fans of this subgenre of course. I had heard a few songs before yesterday, but I finally listened to all of The Inevitable and I and I was completely blown away.

 

The Inevitable & I is fantastic and it makes me sad every time I listen to it that HRVRD isn't a thing anymore. Hopefully they'll make a comeback in some form or another

I actually didn't know they weren't active, guess I just hadn't really put together the pieces that it's been almost four years since FTBC. That was a top 10 in 2013 for me, constant rotation all of summer and fall.

 

Yeah I still occasionally listen to that album. Some of it is kinda meh, but I love a few songs from it(Black Creme, Flaming Creatures, Kids With Fake Guns, Eva Bruke, etc.).

 

Have the band ever discussed tacking the same outro onto Brother Song and I'll Find a Way? It's especially curious to me since those are my two favorites from that record.

 

I never really listened to the first one, but Birds Cage is a really fantastic album and I'm bummed it was the end of them

 

First album is also phenomenal, perfect for fans of Circa... would definitely recommend.

 

well Circaboard has been down for months now. It had been all but abandoned since 2010. alot of vids and audio and information compiled on that site.

yep theyve been recording i think they might actually be done recording? im not sure.

 

I thought we'd have an announcement by now. Wondering if this will be on black cement

They finished recording back in the fall/before the OLG tour. When I talked with Nick at the show he said they were waiting to receive the mixes while they were on tour.

Judging from Brendan's Twitter account, it seems like it's officially done. He's done nothing but express how proud of it he is.

 

In that Will Yip thread someone said on a recent podcast he claimed"I'm working on a very important record that I can't talk about yet.".

Which I'm hoping is either this or new mewithoutYou.

 

I wish Will was on the other side of the country when they recorded this.

But...the prepro clips sounded very sweet.

 

I've liked the last couple albums he's worked on. Theyre nothing amazing production wise, but they fit the mood of the records well(Rooms, Pale Horses, new Eisley etc.).

 

yeah Pale Horses sounds fine. never listened to any Eisley

 

It's definitely not this bc he talked about this record a lot in the same interview. I have a feeling it's something much bigger even. He said it's going to be one of the most important record this music world has seen.

 

I feel like he says things to that effect on most of the music he works on, which, as hyperbolic as what he says sounds, I'm glad bands are working with somebody that passionate about music

 

Yip's last few albums have all been fine, the hate for him is overblown at this point

 

Well the last time he worked with Circa I really think he messed the production up bad. Especially with the drum tones.

It might seem like some are beating a dead horse but in the context of this band...they haven't released anything since last album. I'm hoping the production literally sounds the opposite of what it did last time.
