I love the way Juturna sounds, but something has always sounded off to me on the production side. I'm listening to it now and still can't quite pinpoint what it is that I find off. I wish I knew how to articulate what I'm thinking because I hate not being able to explain why I feel a way. haha

The Juturna vinyl lacking House of Leaves is a sin against humanity. haha

IMO, while Juturna and OLG obviously share the same general aesthetic, Juturna is slightly cleaner and crisper. At the same time, I could also justify using the word "sterile" to describe the guitar tones on Juturna, even though I don't really mind them.

Overall, comparing the CD versions, I prefer the production on Juturna over OLG. Neither of them sound especially great, but OLG is muddier and has less separation. Again, the vinyl seems to be significantly better, though.

I really hope we somehow get a digital release of the vinyl master with this upcoming reissue, even though it's highly unlikely.

olg has more space and atmosphere so I think it sounds better than juturna

I agree with this. Not to say Juturna sounds cluttered as a whole in comparison, but I've always felt like OLG has sounded a bit cleaner/clearer than Juturna does. Perhaps the band's songwriting skills have a lot to do with that as well.

My waiter at breakfast had a tattoo of the Circa Survive logo on his wrist. He shared his excitement for this upcoming On Letting Go tour and told me to check out From Indian Lakes. Best friends now.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

I went to a coney place in Mackinaw, Michigan a week ago and my server had a OLG sleeve. Had to high five him.

Someone at my local Wawa has the OLG artwork tattooed on their arm and I showed him the background of my phone then, which is OLG. It was tight

OLG is definitely better than Juturna

anyways, I think Always Begin is my favorite Circa song. Is that weird? I know they have so many other great songs but something about that "there are a thousand ways to go...." part near the end hits the fuckin spot lemme tell ya

  11. always begin is one of my favorites, definitely my favorite from Descensus

I think I've seen one person with a Circa tattoo out in the wild. If I get rambunctious enough I may get one myself...

  13. I've seen the "safe camp" tattoo a lot (from people I would assume would get it in reference to the band)

I actually remember two now. One was the safe camp symbol, and the other was OLG artwork on someone's calf. If I end up getting one it will be a safe camp symbol, just because I don't think I'd want a tattoo as sizeable as an OLG one would be.

Overall favorite has to be between Living Together and In the Morning and Amazing. I think I can second Nesting Dolls being the highlight of Descensus though.
