thought it was "Christian" because of the line "I am your biggest cheerleader"

Really like this, "Age Difference" is the big standout for me at first blush. He's a really good lyricist.

really enjoyed this on first listen. I have a feeling it'll be like Beginners where I liked it immediately and only grow to love it more as I notice its details. he's just such a great songwriter!!!

I’m not sure it’s better than Beginners but it has some great stuff going on. Rubberneckers is incredible.

yeah i dont think i like this as much as beginners but there is still a ton of great stuff on here. some songs like "sitting up with a sick friend" give off heavvvyyy elliot smith vibes.

Saw him live earlier today and it was great. The drummer was doing some really cool, kinda weird stuff on “Northsiders”. They got louder at times than you might expect for a three piece, cool to see him pushing the boundaries of his song arrangements.

Looking to buy a ticket for his show at Baby’s All Right tonight in Brooklyn if anyone has an extra.

Honestly have had no desire to return to this outside of my first few listens, which is a bummer.

This was okay. There are some really good songs on here but the rest is just kind of there for me, which is a bummer because I LOVED Beginners.

Also I wish there was a way to listen to his older albums. I don't understand why he basically acts like his first two albums do not exist. I discovered him during that era and I would love to listen to them again.

I think I'm in the minority here, but IMO it's better than Beginners, I think it's more cohesive as a record.

Beginners was my quarantine album. Easily my most played record across 2020/2021. I wanted to connect with Quitters in the same way, but I didn’t. I still really enjoy it, it’s just not a record I constantly return to.

Quitters took a bit for me, but I put it on as I was painting my room one day and it clicked. This one was a real grower for me, some real gems on it.

  24. Hope it's a new record. This one really fell off for me, some of the vocal performances are very grating, like the harmonies are off-key. Lyrics are still great but the hooks/vibes are weaker throughout. Bummer because I love Beginners!

Also reading earlier posts in this thread I had no idea he had two earlier records. Anywhere I can listen to those?

Unfortunately no, the earlier records are not on Spotify so I have not been able to find a way to listen to them.
