Such a shock and so sudden. Soungarden only played Detroit last night. This one has hit me hard as Chris was such a huge influence on me growing up.

This song has always been one of my favourite tracks by Chris and seems extremely fitting right now.

When BMF came out, it must have been 88-89 when I was coming into my own, with college music, grunge, etc.... And nirvana/PJ were huge - and making waves... and I Heard Soundgarden.. and saw the 'hair'... done.

They were amazing live. And god, was he sexy. That damn hair. :)

I can't remember if I saw them more than Lollapalooza. But I remember the set - and they did Ice Ts Cop Killer.... jumping around stage.... good god, the electricity....

Favorite funny moment - the movie Singles - when Matt Dillon destroys the windows in the car with the music that doesn't turn down.

I love that film but my god what a soundtrack it has, it's between that and Grosse Point Black for my favourite ever soundtrack. I'm expecting my copy of the deluxe vinyl to turn up tomorrow, it's gonna be a bit bittersweet listening to that after Chris's passing, will definitely be cranking that loud as fuck this weekend though.

Gotta say - in the 80s - best soundtrack a tthe time.... Pretty in Pink. :) That was perfect. But Singles is right there. :)
Id have to look at GPP for the songs - were the Femmes on that one?

I can't believe this. Between him and Weiland, I've lost two of my favorite singers growing up within a couple of years

Where did you read that if you don't mind me asking? That would make it so much more sad...

    missing out

I can't believe it, this is so sad. He was a huge influence for me when I was starting to play music, and so much of his music has really fond memories attached to it for me. Really heartbreaking news.
