I was replacing my electric guitar strings earlier today! Because the little e string broke. In February...

 

Changing guitar strings isnt too tough, just take your time. Especially if you have a floating bridge. You'll want to die immediately.

 

I won't do a second cover anymore. Work has given me a lot more shifts over the next few weeks and I just won't get time. I've almost finished my first cover though so that will come, but I can't do a second one.

 

Next compilation idea:
Warped Tour (Only cover bands playing on Warped Tour)

 

Im gonna have to let go of Ocean Avenue, guys. Just don't have the time before I go off for like a month. Hope whoever takes it kills it and I know the compilation will sound killer

when I first picked up a guitar, how I go was the one of the very first songs I tried to play/sing. I never really learned it properly though and I'm v excited to start working on it

 

I'm happy that my giving it up is gonna get us another sweet cover :D

Finished bass and drums to my song yesterday!

 

Sorry for the late notice mate, I'm just not happy with how my cover is coming together, so I'm going to pull out. Good luck with the comp, I'm sure it'll be great.

 

Status update:

I finished tracking and an initial mix of With You Around.

...I am not happy with it. I mean, I know it's good enough but I wish pretty much every instrument SOUNDED better. It's just meh.

I begin tracking for The Takedown tomorrow... I'll be going back to my old method (like I used on the Hit The Lights cover) where I mic my amp for guitar tones. Using amplitude is sweet but it never really has the punch that I'm looking for. I might try adding Amplitude to my FX Loop just to add more live-controllable effects to my real amp tone. I'll experiment with that a bit for The Takedown and if guitar tracking sounds better I may go back and re-record just the guitars for With You Around.

Still on track to have both covers in on time. Just hope I've got enough time and skill to redo WYA.

EDIT: Also, Pokemon Go has been a huge distraction the past couple of days.

 

That game is so annoying. All my friends are getting like Eevees and Magnimites and shit, and all I run into is Pidgeys and Zubats.

Spent a fair chunk of time recording my song and multi-tracking some vocals for it today. Pretty excited about the arrangement I came up with.

 

I'm so glad I got sick after I finished recording mine.

 

Meeting up with my buddy to record tonight. Haven't done one of these since the first blink one! I wasn't too happy with my input on that. Hoping to redeem myself!
