  1. Thank you so much!! Means a lot coming from you. Pretty certain you're talking about the All My Friends cover -- the original is all acoustic, so I definitely took some liberties hah. It's from one of my favorite records ever though so I'm glad to have done it justice!

It's actually just a coincidence. St. Nate is a nickname I gave myself because... narcissism. My favorite volleyball tank top says "St. Nate" on the back.

Thank you! Yeah I'm happy I was able to incorporate that part on guitar because I actually cannot whistle lol. I really tried and it was not pretty. Should've kept some of the outtakes though, they were hilarious to listen to :crylaugh:

@JakeRabin this falling for you song tho. Holy shit feel like this was labeled as an unreleased TBS song on winmx Years ago

  17. TBS, Yellowcard, The Starting Line, New Found Glory, Slick Shoes... you name it and there was a file of that song with their name on it on a file sharing program. Idk who did that but it was half genius because everyone knew the song and half terrible because many people didn't realize who it was really by

The real smart people made the file name / ID3 "Artist" tagged with whatever band they were piggybacking on but the ID3 had the actual artist listed as "Album".

    1. @JakeRabin FCPREMIX- fuck, what a way to kick this one off, this cover rules. Used to love this band and this record, so this one was super fun to listen to -- you really killed it. The spastic FoT energy looks good on you, my friend. Love the scream on "rewind and rewind and REWIIIIIND". You can bet your ass I'll be coming back to this, as well as throwing on that record sometime this week.

    2. @elemenohpe Round Here- CC are awesome and you did such a great job with this. I can tell you really love this band and that this cover has been in the works to some degree for a long time. I know I say this every time so I hope it doesn't come off as insincere, but you really do get better every time! Production on this is great and it's my favorite vocal performance of yours yet. Duritz would be proud.

    3. @Wall Of Arms @thesoftskeleton Smoke Signals- wasn't kidding when I said that this was some shit I was absolutely trying to hear. I admire you both and always, always look forward to each of your submissions. The two of you did a fantastic job with this modern day classic. This is my favorite song on her record and this haunting interpretation of it really resonated with me. Your voices (despite what Kyle may think) are angelic over that crazy rich atmosphere and work so well trading off the way they do.

    4. @St. Nate New York- I'm not very familiar with St. Vincent despite many times being told that I should be. One thing's for certain, this cover makes me want to finally act on that! Love how playful and intimate this is. Your falsettos and harmonies are super on point here. If St. Vincent set the pins up for you then you sure as shit knocked them down!

    5. @Damien Davies Run- haven't heard this song in a very long time, but it's such a great fall selection! The original definitely captures the season's vibes and so does this cover. It's a minor detail, but I love how the two guitar tracks compliment each other. The right panned one provides a strong rhythm for toe-tapping, and the left panned one helps add a visual of this being played in a larger environment. Very enjoyable cover, and thanks so much for taking the reigns on this while @bradsonemanband was out being TOO GOOD FOR US (kidding Brad, hope you're having a blast out there)

    6. @aoftbsten Sensible Heart- damn man, really channeling your inner Dallas here -- love it! You sing this with such passion that it genuinely feels like your opening your chest to show us your heart. Maybe I'm off base here but it sounds like this song really means a lot to you. The keys (if that's what they are? Sounds like they could be heavily delayed guitar harmonics too) that come in around 2:25 are a very nice touch and despite their minimalism really add a lot of color to this cover. Wonderful job!

    7. @JakeRabin Falling For You- again with perfectly capturing the energy of your selection! I have a very fond memory of singing this song loudly in a car with friends on a super rainy fall afternoon in high school, so I'm low key super happy this got picked lol. The nature of your covers so far being very straightforward and just absolutely slaying them has me really excited for your third entry. The production on your songs so far has been great too, everything is mixed super well and I'm particularly impressed with the drumming.

    8. @Jdaniels Won't Be Home- heard the name a million times, but this actually might be my first real exposure to the Old 97's haha. I like it! Very straight-up-rock feel with some real grit in those vocals of yours. Almost got an STP feel out of your voice in some spots, actually. I think what I like most about this cover is how reminiscent it is of your original material! Having not heard the original version of this song, I'd say you either really made it yours or you take a lot of influence from it. Either way is a win for you, cause this is great.

    9. @Pseudo! Sprained Ankle- This. Is. Beautiful. If I didn't know this was a Julien Baker cover, I'd have thought you were covering some Copeland b-side I hadn't heard. Seriously, the Copeland vibes are super real with this, and I loved every second of it. It couldn't have been easy to mix all of those layers but you did it masterfully. Those falsettos near the end in the background are spine-tingling and incredibly effective. Can't remember if I've heard from you on one of these comps yet but I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing your name here in the future!

    10. @troyplaysbass Autumn In New London- ah man I liked this a lot! The keys you used are super warm and fall-feeling, it makes me feel like I should be curled up on my couch with the fireplace crackling in the background. The combo of them with the acoustic guitar was super relaxing and kind made it seem as if you were playing this song right in front of me haha. Well done man!

    11. @xkhiemster TPYHCTFTM- I love that you recorded this outside haha. I've talked about atmosphere in a lot of these little write ups but I think you took the cake with it here! Puts me right outside in a park with the fall breeze and a warm cup of coffee. Props on not only doing a DC cover, but owning it and making it yours. Chris is a crazy talented songwriter and his songs are not easy to tackle. Had fun listening to this, very nice work!

    12. @Bloodsucker II TLWFYITE- Dude! Awesome! This is super pretty. Haven't listened to Daniel Johnston in some time, and this made me want to. This song feels like I should be listening to it on vinyl, haha. When your harmonies kick in with that reverberating piano, I got chills. That was like some Good Old War level harmonies right there -- in your higher register you vaguely remind me of Keith Goodwin. For your first submission to one of these, you killed it. Glad to have you on here, bud.

    13. @Damien Davies Sidewalks- I appreciate that you stayed in your lower register with this. It's a great song but played strictly acoustically I feel like vocals closer resembling the original song could easily overpower the guitar. This was the first track in a few on this that I knew all the words to so I was definitely singing along with ya! Loved the throwback to this classic, good stuff!

    15. @therookielot Joy- The fact that you made the decision to keep this minimalistic but still maintained a great level of creative expression is awesome. By that, I mean you could've easily just left clean guitar and vocal tones on this and it would've sounded totally fine, but your decision to throw... is that a chorus effect? on the guitar and then a bunch of distortion on the the vocals is really cool. Gives it this cool lo-fi vibe that suits the song very well. Good stuff dude!

    17. @Jdaniels All Too Well- This is pretty widely considered to be one of Taylor's best, if not her absolute best song period -- so to start off, props for taking this. You brought a fun energy to the track when it could've easily just been played like an acoustic carbon copy and I think that's great. I hate to bring this up with you again but this was another reminder to me of your songwriting and how indicative I now see that it is of what you listen to! You tell stories in your songs just like Taylor does in hers, and for that reason this felt like it could've been one of your originals. Glad to hear more from you on this comp!

    18. @ricklightning Say Nothing- wtf, are you actually Kyle?? Hahaha. You sound identical to him. This is so great! The production on this is perfect, and I love your guitar/bass tones. That overdriven bass sounds like *kisses fingers like a stereotypical Italian chef*. I'm legit jealous of how good this sounds. Bravo on that. For real, if this was swapped out with the original on the record, I might not even bat an eye -- you nailed their sound so well, which also goes hand in hand with this season so great job with the selection.

    19. @xkhiemster All That's Left- it's so awesome how you didn't sacrifice the energetic guitar riffs in this song just because you chose to play it acoustically. It works really well!! This actually might be my favorite cover I've heard from you, had a blast listening to it, full disclosure I was actually air guitaring along with you a little bit lol.

    20. @JakeRabin Monkey Wrench- As expected, another headbanger! I feel like you should play in a cover band hahah. You've played all of these songs like perfectly faithful to the originals, capturing everything down to all of their little inflections. That scream in the bridge was such a cool surprise :crylaugh: So much fun listening to your submissions on this one, you crushed it through and through.

    21. @Damien Davies Crazy- the lounge-y feel to this is so cool! I could see this being played live in the corner of a little wine bar or something, feels really intimate. Was wondering how you'd tackle this one and you did it very well. Fun take on an already fun song!

    22. @xkhiemster IKSOSE3- Coheed has always been a fall band to me too, glad I'm not alone! Much like the DC cover, you picked a hard vocalist to take on, but your spin totally worked again -- and much like the Thrice cover, you went iiiiiin on those guitar parts and it brought a fun energy to the acoustic rendition. Some of those picking parts are not easy, respect on nailing them.

This is by far the cover that has been the hardest and also the one I spent the most time making yet (the Alkaline Trio one comes close though), so it makes me sooo happy to hear that it paid off! Thank you so much!! :D
