Already almost finished with my track. I need to buy a new bass this weekend and quickly lay down a bass track.

 

I haaaaate mine so much. Walking away from it for a few days.

 

Finally set some time aside tonight to start working on mine. Have a few ideas floating around, hopefully I can get them out of my head properly.

 

I'm in a similar spot with The New Year. I finished my first cover but every time I sit down to work on this one I end up hating what I come up with.

 

I think im gonna do a one-shot acoustic cover and see how it turns out

 

I hate when that happens. I had recorded most of the music in an afternoon and thought it sounded great, but then it took me 4 days to figure out a vocal approach that suited my voice. Almost scrapped the song entirely but last night I think I figured it out.

 

I have something to submit, but I'm hoping I have time this Monday to re-record so that the vocals fit better.

 

would vote for, in place of female artists, either a non-male artists comp or a queer/trans artists comp

I think the latter would be rly rly cool and also push people to expand their tastes a bit

 

Wrote and recorded all the music to my cover tonight. I'm pretty stoked on it!

 

That would be easier for people, unless you can provide a list of bands for the latter.

 

We still need to do a Tegan and Sara comp. Obviously, that's only one queer/non-male artist, but still.

 

If we do the female comp I'll probably do either an Ingrid Michelson song or Tegan and Sara.

OR maybe Waxahatche. Damn i gotta figure out what my voice can even come close to handling.

This is the approach I normally take - I think I'm spending too much time on it and it's making me hate it this time.

 

Couldn't translate the ideas I had properly and ended up with a straightforward cover. I'm really happy with the way all the instrumentals came out but man, my voice sucks on this.

Anyone want to collab and do the vocals on my Crooked Teeth cover?

If not I guess I'll try and tweak some things to stop this from being a trainwreck haha.
