Is Tony Gonsolin worth holding onto at this point? It's a keeper league so I'd be able to keep him into next year if I want. I just don't know if it's worth the roster spot

  2. does your league not have IL spots or are they full? honestly he could be a great reliever but dodgers would have to get extremely hurt for him to have a regular rotation spot I'd think

I got a bunch of IL AND an extra NA guy right now, and we only get 2 IL spots. Gonsolin, Dinelson Lamet (was hoping for an update by now that would let me just cut bait but, it sounds like for now they plan on bringing him back at the end of his 10 days...), Luke Voit, and then I have Devei Garcia in my NA slot and Kelenic on my bench. Actually I guess I just swapped those guys tecnically to get Gracia's start yesterday. Luckily Lux just came off the IL yesterday so that's no longer a sunk roster spot.

So basically trying to decide who to drop between Gonsolin, Lamet, and Gracia. It's not super urgent because my team is good so far, but I was gonna put speculation adds in on closers who got snatched up, and now I'm seeing some decent offensive depth out there that I'm not sure I want to leave out there on the wire (Mullins comes to mind).

  4. yeah this time of the season the opportunity cost of not being able to snag emergent FAs/guys off the wire is a thing for sure

if I were you I would definitely not drop Lamet. someone chime in if they disagree but I think he by far has the most upside of those three, both for this season and just in general. honestly García is 21 and it would not surprise me if he spends most of the season at AAA unless like Kluber and Taillon absolutely fall apart for the Yanks at some point. my understanding is they want to keep him stretched out as a starter, leading to limited opportunities this season, but there are Yanks fans in the main mlb thread that can speak more definitively to that. so of the 3 I'd probably drop him even though he maybe has more long-term upside than Gonsolin. you're more likely to get decent, semi-consistent and useful stats from Gonsolin this year even as a reliever.

  5. I also should say as full disclaimer that you should trust my takes about baseball in general with absolute certainty because I'm a dork for the game haha but that my fantasy record is more mixed. I've played since I was a kid but didn't play much from 2016-18 and havent been in a keeper league since my HS friends one sputtered out and died almost a decade ago lol

I’m holding onto Gonsolin in an IL spot right now. Dodgers bullpen has been very weak and he should get pretty consistent opportunities.

Yeah it's definitely a PITA trying to find the balance with keeper leagues and when to hang onto young guys. I mean right now it's just dumb stuff that is giiving me a problem...if Kelenic would get called up like he should be right now, Garcia goes to NA and I get an open spot. But noooooooo Seattle has to drag its feet

  8. Kelenic has to be up within a few wks I'd think so that wait should be over soon even if he doesnt mash immediately in MLB

My team snapped yesterday felt good. Whacked everything out of the park.

  10. Lol of course Garver goes off with two homers when I finally benched him for Posey

    May i suggest

    Regular season champ = $50
    Champ = 175
    Runner up = 75

I like having regular season winner get a prize but I might be in minority.

My team is so bad that I think the only way I'd have a shot at the money is if we made payouts for the last place teams. Fuck the winners, just give them bragging rights! (But seriously, I'm cool with whatever.)

I am not opposed to maybe money back for either 3rd place in the playoffs or money back to 1st place regular season (not both), but not more than just money back, but ultimately i think id probably prefer just top 2 since we only have $300 to play with. Like $200/100, but $175/$100/$25 also seems fine

  21. I say regular season champ and playoffs runner up get money back, winner gets the rest

And this is coming from the dude in last place currently lol (although I might move up a little after this wk)

I'm a fan of giving the top 3 teams money (based on the playoff results, not anything from the regular season).

    $175/$100/$25 seems fair to me.

We could even do $200/$75/$25 if you wanted a bigger prize for 1st place

$200/$75/$25 seems good to me - the first place prize should be substantial

I agree on $200, $75, $25. First place prize should definitely be substantial. In the basketball league we got $240, $40, $20 for $300 total. I didn’t even notice until yesterday that one person didn’t even pay for that league lol
