well i’m describing how it feels to me. how would you describe it

it’s full of loud stuff but there’s no actual substance to the sound, just shrill bodiless synths echoing around in empty space? i fully admit to Not Getting It

possibly i should listen to this record outside of work as listening to things at work tends to magnify what’s annoying about them

I really enjoyed Sucker a few years back, but then I never really listened to anything she's done since then, but I'm loving Pop 2, so apparently I have some catching up to do.

I hate to ask this question, but what else of hers is considered essential? I was so blown away by Pop 2 - seriously, as imperfect a mixtape it is, it's some of the most exciting pop music i've heard in a while - that I checked out a few of her older singles, and for the most part, was pretty ambivalent. I'm listening to Number 1 Angel right now and liking it a ton, so I guess the best way to put this would be: if I love Charli XCX's 2017 output, what else of hers should I really listen to? I'm guessing the Vroom Vroom EP would be up my alley?

Vroom Vroom is in a similar vein. True Romance and Sucker are straight pop albums. I love them both dearly, but this new stuff is a welcome farcry from what she was releasing a few years ago.

In think you’re better off moving on to number 1 angel first. I think vroom vroom is more like a deep cut.

I'm so glad I was able to see some of her earlier tours and see it live. It's my favorite pop song by a lot.

Vroom Vroom is when she first shattered convention and paved the way for both tapes. If you have those three, you're good

First time I saw her was on the Sucker tour with Bleachers so all I got from True Romance was Grins. Still glad I saw that tour. Hope she comes by again sometime (not as an opener... saw her do just 6 songs this year lol)
