God damn, why couldn't tickets have gone on sale at a more affordable time in my life?

Will go for sure even though it'll just be adding to my already stacked concert schedule. Tickets for my show are only around $45 for GA so not too bad.

Also, I don't know about the rest of the dates but Eaglebank Arena in DC (really Virginia but it's considered a DC date on most tours) seems a bit big for Chance, though I guess I could be underestimating Chance's newfound popularity. I saw Green Day there two years ago, and Fall Out Boy the year before

Surprising my sister with tickets for his show in October for her birthday. First time seeing him, can't wait.

Think I was struggling to get past just listening to some of my initial favorites. I listened to the whole album but didn't actually focus in on it as much as I should have. Relistening can't think of any song as inessential.

Well I don't think Mixtape is "essential" per se, but I still like it a lot and am glad it made the album. Sometimes I feel like the record could have used one more up-tempo song but that's a pretty petty complaint, I suppose.

I think that the idea of releasing this as a free mixtape is very essential. Also think the choice of having two young rappers like Lil Yachty and Young Thug that are largely under appreciated and made fun of is an incredibly important move. Chance is often thought to be the exact opposite of those artists as intellectual rap compared to the likes of Yachty and Thugger. Many fans of Chance point to rappers like Yachty and Thug to show the decline of rap music. Connecting with them and calling Yachty his favorite verse is a slap in the face to the often racist and ableist naysayers of "street rap" and a step in the direction of unity that I think is a main theme of the tape.

Agreed completely, and I think them being featured on a song about staying true to mixtapes, and art created purely for the purpose of expression, they are perfect additions-- especially considering neither of those rappers have released a debut album on any label yet.

I don't know, man - I guess it's one of those "get it or not" sorta things... some... ermm... experience with the purple concoction helps it click, I'd say (not necessary tho)

but chopped music is an important element of hip hop culture that permeates even the bigger, more popular acts (A$AP, Future, even Frankie O here and there)

I can't tell the difference between Justin's vocals and Francis' at all
