I had followed her involvement with the Morgan Wallen incident back when it happened, but reading her perspective on it now makes me appreciate it even more. It’d be really easy to go the black square ally route and just double down, the fact that she doesn’t shows her heart’s really in the right place. Also really dug the bit about her realizing that her genre switches have essentially boiled down to following the guitars lol, never thought of it that way

 

I too feel like my investment in country music in the mid-2010s was all about following the guitars.

 

Here's hoping she makes her first good emo record.

 

All her albums have songs I really love, but she's never quite dialed it in for a full-length, in either genre space.
