it's only marginally heavier than this, so i feel comfortable labeling it "post-rock," but the last few russian circles albums have been great

I did like enjoy Tertia more this go round.

On Circles might be their best. Hard to say.

 

Okay, it's still early, but I feel pretty confident about this. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong.

Reverse order for me

 

Four Trees is the album that got me into them, but it's the one I go back to the least. Every one one of their releases is excellent, though.

It took a couple dozen spins but Nostalgist is finally hitting me, hard. Love that song.

 

I think Gone in Bloom and Bough was the first song I ever heard. I was blown away. There’s a lot of tracks I don’t mind skipping on The Four Trees, which I don’t really have with the albums that followed. However, “Moksha,” “Some Are White Light,” and “ASA” are some of my favorites, period.

 

I honestly think they're one of those bands that's just gotten better with each passing album

 

Hard to say which is my favorite, they all have very specific moods to me. The last three are head and shoulders above the rest though.

Wildblood is everything I want in this sort of music. What a song.

 

Fingers crossed the Caspian/TWDY tour they’re kinda hinting at happens later this year

I know they’ve said they don’t usually like touring with other instrumental/post-rock bands but it certainly seems like this tour will happen

 

Man, how awesome would it be to see them opening on the upcoming Megadeth/Lamb of God tour - I feel that crowd would def dig the heavier elements of Caspian

 

Not quite as heavy as MD/LoG but for another example, when they opened for Katatonia, at least at my date, they were received VERY well, and I got the impression there wasn't a ton of people there for them.

All this to say I agree, Caspian seems to be able to thrive at shows with bands they wouldn't necessarily cross paths with regularly.
