My girlfriend said that parts of Will’s vocal delivery sound like Adjy. I never would have thought of that, but I get where she’s coming from.

Been sitting with the lyrics and the album for a few weeks now and I'm confident to say that this has well and truly won me over. It's just on constant repeat for me and is probably my AOTY.

Yeah I’m really impressed with some of the lyricism on here. Nocturnalia, Ohio, and harsh light especially have some really gorgeous and evocative songwriting

This thread inspired me to listen to Joyce Manor for the first time. So I sat down to listen to their full discography, and a half hour later I’m here to say: all the albums sound pretty similar quality wise and I have no immediate hot takes.

even better live, really reminded me of seeing Hotelier "Sun" live for the first time. Drum beat is awesome and strange

I actually returned to Goodness this week on the back of this album. They feel quite similar in execution and the mood that both albums put me in. They both benefit hugely from being played start to finish too.

lol I too have been rinsing Goodness the past few weeks and I'm sure this record has something to do with it

Goodness is one of my favorites of all time but I don’t really find too many similarities to this

Loved that Empty Country debut record, I think even more than CEG throughout the recent years!

it's just the percussion and that poetic melancholy mood that reminds me of Goodness not any stylistic similarities

also that Empty Country album is such a classic. not sure I've heard a better song than Marian since it dropped

Can you guys help me identify one of their songs?

What song is playing for the first 50 seconds or so here? And if it's not a song and just some random jam, these dudes need to flesh it out because it's really good.

BTW I really love this band.

I think they’re just jamming on a few chords as an intro to their show

Thanks! Yeah, that's what I was thinking it was most likely. Sort of sounded like Glacier in a way, which they get into right after that, but I was really hoping it was a fully fleshed out song hah.
