What I mean is, as long as she doesn't start sharing her heart (which she did in AOU, which was out of character but technically not contradictory), she's not supposed to feel like one character. A recent run by Nathan Edmondson and Phil Noto showed her thoughts but depicted her as a master spy and actor who keeps herself unattached to the point where she doesn't want a cat (but then keeps it because, come on, cat). Then, in the newly launched series by Mark Waid and Chris Samnee, they're not even giving her narration or the like because they don't want the audience too close to her. In a weird way, contradiction is part of her character.

Alamo Drafthouse is the best theater chain I've ever experienced. They do awesome work in film too, distributing the Look of Silence, Under the Skin, and A Band Called Death, all of which are excellent, amongst others. Also I believe Birth Movies Death runs under their umbrella and they do really great film writing.

I'm watching the winter soldier now. This is really not as good as it was hyped up to be. Still has all the same trappings of the other marvel films and the dialogue is pretty bad. Some awful CGI too.

It's not great. I mean if your barometer is the other MCU movies then yeah it's good but...

@Nick How do you feel about the action sequences?

I feel like all the MCU movies have similar levels of CGI. GOTG has a lot more of it probably, but it's about the same quality

I thought the action was good, especially the one in one fights with Bucky. However I think they also presented a tonal problem. The film seemed to set itself up with spy tropes and homages, the boat at the beginning being a big one. Yet the film is missing a lot of the intrigue of spy films, this is due to every time they go for an spy film type piece it descends into Marvel-esque action. I mean that should have been expected, yes. But I think it provides tonal imbalance to the film.

I think the Russo's wanted to make an actual spy thriller but couldn't pull the trigger and we got a half baked spy/comic action film. Which, I guess could be seen as an unfair criticism but I long to see the version of that film that was just all out espionage.

Direction wise it was a little better than most MCU films, but it still looked fairly bland. I think a more stylised shooting technique would have been beneficial and could have fed into the spy film feeling more.

latest and probably last trailer before release

I will add that I didn't like the first Captain America movie, but I believe that Winter Solider is the best Marvel Movie to date and this one could rival that. But that's just my opinion.

I think this one definitely has potential to be one of the best. TWS and Ant-Man are tied for me.
