Guys, it's incredible. Absolutely loved it. Won't write any kind of review as I don't want to spoil anything, but it's great.

Watched it in imax. Might be unnecessary.

Film is incredible though. Tied for Winter Soldier as my favorite MCU film. (might change on rewatch).

Arguably has the best action scenes out of any comic book film. I commend whoever was in charge of that. Must've been a headache to prepare.

Won't declare what my highlights were and whatnots. But I am excited on the discussions for the film. Subbin'

I need to stop coming in this thread until I've seen it. So excited. Hoping to catch it on Monday.

It's a good movie. Not up there with Winter Soldier though imo. I think you could easily have released this movie as Avengers: Civil War and no one would've questioned it. Captain America himself is totally overshadowed by at least half the cast, lol. If anything, I empathised more with Tony than I did Steve.

Spider-man suddenly appears half way into the movie, totally steals the show for 15-20 minutes and then vanishes just as quickly as he came. Tom Holland is clearly miles better than Tobey Maguire, but I'm not ready yet to say he's better than Andrew Garfield. I'm confident that he'll be at least as good as Garfield in his solo movies though, his performance is fairly similar. I still would've prefered to have seen an older Spider-man. I sound really negative haha, but overall Spider-man is awesome in this movie, I just wish there had been more of him.

There's two scenes in the credits so make sure you wait right until the end. The second one is really cool.

I don't think I like Winter Soldier as much as most people seem to. I liked it a lot more than the first Cap but still wouldn't be in my top 3, maybe even 5 Marvel films.

What's your top 3? There's a good chance this might sneak in regardless if you enjoyed WS or not

Guardians, Avengers and then either Age of Ultron or Iron Man. I have high expectations for this one, ha.

Black Panther was awesome. I don't know much about the character but after seeing him in Civil War, I'm excited for his solo movie.

It's maybe somewhere in between being a Captain America film and an Avengers one. Ultimately the focus is still on Cap, Bucky and Tony (after them it's mostly the new/newer characters) and I think the crux of it takes after Winter Soldier more than either Avengers film - it basically takes that "Marvel does an espionage/sci-fi thriller with more visceral action" style and laces it with a lot of big, crowd-pleasing moments. People will probably have differing opinions on how well it handles a large cast of characters but I think it did pretty well, certainly better than Age of Ultron did.

    Holy shit what a movie.

Easily the best Marvel movie to date. You can see both sides of the argument and at points I felt genuinely conflicted on who I wanted to win during the many fight scenes. It actually made me sad seeing them fight each other.

Spider-Man and Ant-Man were excellent and Black Panther completely nailed it.

@SpyKi the action feels more like AoU than WS I feel. It's less Metal Gear-ish (I adored that in WS, but I'm glad that civil war has its own beat entirely

Cheered when Hawkeye appeared. As someone who had no standalone film, I really enjoy what they did to his character. He's just so confident and badass and has one of the more underrated superhuman abilities

Regardless if it's gonna be your favorite MCU film or not, I don't think anyone will argue how fun this movie is in terms of eye candy.

    Consistently Lurking

So far, with only one viewing, I'd say this is the top MCU movie of all, and I thought Winter Soldier wouldn't be topped easily. Additional viewings would only cement Civil War as my top MCU movie. It feels like they addressed most of the criticisms thrown at Age of Ultron here (meh introductions to the Twins, shallow villian motive, too much exposition for upcoming movies). This is a definite stand-alone Captain America movie and yet it also feels like an Avengers movie.
