Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

I LIKE Sugar, but it’s 30-45 seconds too long imo

Lowkey best part of the song- “I SAW YOU WALKIN’ WITH HIM!”

Last Rites into Sugar then Behold The Hurricane. What a strong and intro a new band. Sequence of songs still gives me chills.

Wrong on the first part, but that definitely is the best part of the song.

Any Elsie slander and I will be tempted to start firing off Handwritten hot takes

Elsie isn’t on Pandora and that’s annoying because now I’m very curious to hear it.

Despite the slander and what not, it really is an outstanding record. Beautiful melodies, some of Brian’s best lyrics, haunting instrumentation at points, and immaculately produced.

  9. I’ve given Sleepwalkers a bunch more listens and its growing on me.

So far my top tracks are Forget Me Not, Come Wander With Me, and My Name is the Night.

The other songs are solid but I think this album could’ve benefited from a little variation production/intrumental wise. Feels like one pre-set was laid over most of the album.

I’m not sure if it’ll ever top Painkillers for me, but it is a really good effort and I will always be down for more Fallon tunes.

In my soul I need another Brian/Butch team up.

It's a rainy, dreary day where I am, so I think it's time to give this record another spin.

OK, I've now listened to Painkillers 3 or 4 times through. I enjoy it, but nowhere near as much as I enjoy Sleepwalkers. I've probably listened to Sleepwalkers 20x through already. Going to continue to give Painkillers a shot then move on from there to maybe some Gaslight Anthem stuff again.

I always enjoyed Elsie, but it REALLY clicked with me in January 2014. I went through a shitty break-up & was working a door-to-door sales job. There was something about the combination of how sad/angry I was, the extremely cold weather, the difficulty of my job, and the one-two punch of "Black Betty..." and "Blood Loss" that helped push it to the next level for me.

I worked a door-to-door sales job for like two weeks right out of college and it was the most soul-draining experience of my life. Fucking miserable shit.

Possible hot take: "Watson" may be a top ten Brian song

Yea I got the second to last copy available at Rough Trade. He did the record release show there so it may explain why they had so many copies.

haven't kept up in here too well but man, i am so grateful to be alive, young, and listening while this dude is at his seemingly endless peak. the title track really hit me like bricks recently

"And I don’t mind the empty hours, I’m learning to sit with my demons
Been itching to write up this book again, but it’s so hard explaining the fevers
I’m workin’ to live with the livin’, ma, 'cause I spent too many years running
And I just want to find somebody designed with the same old electricity humming"

Not a hot take at all. It's easily one of if not the best song on the album.
