This song doesn't depress me at all. 5/10 on my Brand New scale.

 

Liking this more with repeated listens.

This song is killer. I liked Mene better on first listen, but this is a really fun song.

 

Exactly, I'm just hoping Banquet pick some up or a local record store gets them in. Even the shipping to Canada is triple the US shipping, this happened when they released the lyric booklets and after a day the international shipping reduced significantly.

 

This sounds like it could be a single of off at least 2 Crime In Stereo records, serious Crime In Stereo vibes

The chorus may be repetitive, but it's certainly catchy

 

I don't get the YFW comparisons at all...it's definitely more poppy than I'd expect from BN but not at all in the way YFW was. And to be honest this is much better than any song on that record. I like this direction, super excited to hear more

 

I listened 4 times in a row. Grabbed some lunch from the cafe on the first floor, came back up, and I forgot how the song went.

 

this song sounds SO boring and generic. It'll probably do fine on radio but I feel very ehhhhh about it.

 

agreed, the 12" is odd but then again so is anything and everything surrounding BN right now.

I really like the song. Get kind of an Interpol vibe? And a little REM, maybe?

 

I think the YFW comparisons are just because it's the poppiest song they've put out in a long, long time.


This really reminds me of something but I can't put my finger on what exactly it is

 

if he screams "you're coming out of the ground it's kinda freaking me out" live, I would love that.

 

Interesting note - when I put the bandcamp download in iTunes the title reads "I Am A Nightmare - Single" did Mene read that way too or not? Can't remember.

 

I'm so so happy I've got some new Brand New vinyl on the way, and I actually love the song now, so I retract how bitter I sounded. Ridiculously happy but sort of killed my hopes for an album announcement any time soon.

 

I feel like I know Jesse well enough to know how he will sing this song off melody live.

THIS IS AMAZING.

 

I dig this a lot. Not quite as much as "Mene" (which I hope is still on the album), but it's cool to hear them take their "recent" sound into a catchier direction.

 

Whelp, I'm a fan. Critically, I don't know what I think. Pure enjoyment, it's great. Had to jump on the 12" vinyl single as well.

 

I don't know how I feel right now lol.... I need to listen to it a few more times. My brain is confused.

 

Listened only once since I'm at work but got some heavy Smiths vibes in the first verse. I definitely enjoy this more than I first enjoyed "Mene," though.
