I think it's because he uses them sparingly (at least in recordings) so it's more effective.

Gasoline is just so bare bones and raw. That simple guitar pattern and beat with Jesse's vocals is so tense the whole time. I legit love this song. Vices vs Bride is a little tougher, but Bride is the clear winner when I really think about it.

Edit: did not see Vices going down so bad. Brutal.

 

I'd be pretty cool with any of Vices, Gasoline, or Bride winning.

Yea, never knew Bride was so favored. I don't really skip any Brand New songs, but Bride is not one that I would jump to if I was starting in the middle for some reason.

 

After checking the track list... Bride is in my bottom 3 for the album.

At The Bottom vs. Gasoline was close to a toss up.

Bought A Bride vs. Vices was easy for me. I just don't think Vices is that good of a song. It's a good opening track and it's jarring and different and everything, but Bought A Bride is a much stronger song (all my opinion of course)
