Damn, I had no idea Jesse and his wife were affected so significantly during Hurricane Sandy. Displaced for six months.

When she says when we weren't working at our regular jobs...so does Jesse have a main gig other than Brand New? If so I wonder what it is

Yea. Back in 2012 they were pretty active.

Were they? 2012 and 2010 are the only years I haven't seen them since 2008.

damn, that sucks that happened to them but it's cool they're all right now. i mean, def feel bad about ever complaining about music cause that is definitely disheartening and if it happened to me i wouldn't want to do anything at all, much less tour which would cause someone to be away from their family.

Wow yeah that's pretty crazy. Insurance companies fucking suck.

I'm kind of surprised that experience didn't come through at all on this album, the lyrics seem super personal on this one, especially as it relates to mental health. That couldn't have been a good experience to go through.

If you lived in Canada or the UK, 2012 was an active year for them haha.

It looks like Brand New played 23 shows in 2012...none after September 21 (Hurricane Sandy was in October) and they didn't play again until a one-off show in April of 2013 then 14 more shows between August and December.

That tour was my first time seeing them. Jesse played bass for An Horse, and was completely hammered by the time BN hit the stage haha

That venue in Guelph was really nice, except for the fact it was like 100 degrees in there

My only regret is not going to more than one show on that tour. I went to the Toronto date and should of went to the Guelph show. I bought tickets to the Winnipeg show, plane tickets, hotel everything but got sick and didn't go. I was on vacation at the time and remember being pretty bummed out about it. All I ended up doing instead was watch the London Olympics on tv. But yeah I never should of bought tickets to the Winnipeg show. That was a donkey move. The funny thing is when Brand New played at Riot Fest in Toronto in 2014 I ended up using my WestJet credit from the Winnipeg ticket to go see them in Toronto so I guess it all worked out in the end.

My only regret with Riot Fest Toronto 2014 is not going on the Sunday too. Still to this day the most stacked lineup for a festival I think there will ever be. It's even crazier since smaller bands like Citizen I didn't follow at the time so I would of went even earlier to see them if I knew about them. I mean look at this lineup for both days. It's insanely stacked and now Riot Fest doesn't even go to Toronto anymore :(

So anyone want to rank some shit in here?

I'm not really into the Blink, Curb, awesome albums of 2006 discussion of the record thread. But I'd be down to vote something off or rank something.
