In fairness, he said John nolan and not TBS, and those two at minimum are still friends/talk as far as we had heard a few years ago haha.

If Jesse does some stuff after Brand New is done, I wouldn't be opposed to having him do it with John Nolan and seeing what comes of it.

 

John Nolan's solo stuff is awesome and it'd be cool to see him open for Jesse or something if he decides to go solo.

 

I went solo once. It didn't pan out for me.

 

let me see Pinegrove and Brand New in the same night so I don't have to go out anymore for the rest of the year.

 

I imagine I am going to regret this, but I am looking for bands that sound similar to Brand New and Manchester Orchestra. I would be curious for bands and specific songs that sound similar.

I am already aware of Kevin Devine, Thrice, Republic of Wolves, All The Day Holiday, Bad Books, Right Away Great Captain.

 

For Manchester Orchestra, I'll recommend The Carney Encore even though they aren't a band any longer (which really sucks).

Also, Quiet Company has a song called The Easy Confidence which is reminiscent of ManO in the best possible way. Unfortunately, I don't think that song represents what Quiet Company actually sounds like... though I do like them.

Actually, in my opinion, their two best songs (The Easy Confidence and, the newly released, Get Beside Me Satan) don't represent their sound very well. They're very melodic. Again, I like them overall, but if their catalog was closer to those songs they'd be pretty fucking great.

I don't know of any bands that truly sound like Brand New to me.

A band for fans of Brand New and Manchester Orchestra that I can't recommend enough (even though they don't sound like either) is Cymbals Eat Guitars. I'd say start with their last album, Pretty Years, and then Lose.

Because for me living in Canada I don't get those tours so I only hear the legends of them. Would love to get one myself.
