Was thinking this as well. It's not just the size of the fan base, it's also their media consumption habits. Brand New announced their album shows on twitter less than 10 minutes before they went on sale and they still sold out in seconds.

 

Thanks for confirming that. I always wondered about that since there were comments made by them around the time of release that hinted at label decisions and the band having to fight them.
