I've never seen Brand New live before, and mewithoutYou is my favourite band, so when I got a text saying they were touring Canada together I was ecstatic.

Then I noticed it had been two hours since the announcement already, so of course both Toronto dates were already sold out. Shit.

i just had the strangest dream ever. I had a dream that Brand New released information on LP5. But in typical Brand New fashion, no announcement was actually made. I just went onto their bandcamp (yeah they had bandcamp in my dream) and all of a sudden the default page on their profile was a new album that was coming out June 15th 2016, and one song was available to stream. the entire track list was shown, but only the one single could be played.
it was a 9 track album, with really weird animated looking album artwork of the sun. There was a brief description of the album on the bandcamp page, and in the description it said "we have a female vocalist now that sings a lot on this album". I pressed play on the single and it was this straight forward indie rock song with like a two word repeated chorus. Jesse didnt sing once the entire song. the new female vocalist sang the entire thing.
I went to check absolutepunk to see what people were saying but there was no news thread. so this is when it gets weirder.
im in a grocery store parking lot, and @Jason Tate drives by in a big truck with a couch in the back of the truck. Im like yelling "dude! dude! you need to make a news post about the new Brand New album! this is crazy!" and Jason is like whatever dude youre full of shat, come help me move this couch. Im like "i cant, i have to write this paper i have due tomorrow" (which is actually real lol)... but i tell Jason to check his email and sure enough Jesse Lacey had emailed him being like "hey make a news post about our new album"... So then Jason and some other AP user shows up who i dont even remember who it was in the dream are just chilling in this parking lot with this couch. The two of them press play on the single and start freaking out because theyre so excited... meanwhile im watching their reaction and thinking, "guys this song freaking sucks". Then when the song ended Jason and the AP user who turned into one of my best friends from real life, just kept trying to get me to help them move the couch and i wouldnt.
then i woke up. lol.

 

Ok, we need BN news, because it seems like it's getting to your subconscious now lol.

 

seriously. want albums deets rn.

 

I'm like, 3 years past worrying about Brand New news. When it happens, it happens, but I'm smart enough not to be waiting on the edge of my seat

 

Yep, I've stopped caring about Brand New news. I'll still get hyped as hell when a new album is playing in my headphones though.

 

Oh totally, few things I want more than a new album

That dream is pretty amazing, I just read it and it makes me happy

 

A new album would be cool, but the band has done so much already that I don't mind that LP5 is taking ages to be put out, if ever. I still get a rush when listening to TDAG. Discovering that record was a crucial turning point for me musically.

This is really sweet! I wrote something about the first time I saw Brand New live for my creative writing class a couple years ago, maybe I should post it here sometime.

A new album signals the end of the world. I'm fine with that.

 

Surely, we're due for some news or development from their camp, right? I just don't see them going on tour this summer without having something to offer us before then.
