One week from today I get to see my all time favorite album performed in full. I am so grateful for that opportunity, and will be reminding myself about it to help me get through what I am sensing will be a very hectic weekend.

What are your guys' favorite track off Daisy and why? I'm sure it's been asked before a dozen times, but I'm just curious. Been lurking for this thread and the /r/BrandNew subreddit for some time. I know TDAG gets a lot of love, but I'm just wondering about your guys' opinion.

 

Bought a Bride.

I just love the song, and it was the first one I heard from the album when they were playing it acoustically before the album came out.

 

Noro is my favorite because it feels huge, it's got a great blend of beauty and chaos or whatever bullshit people like to use to describe it, and I love when albums come full circle

 

You Stole. I know it gets a bad rap but that is my favorite Brand New track period, not just off Daisy.

 

Gasoline is a highlight for me. That song is huge live especially. The second verse is one of my favorite brand new lyrical moments ever. I love the second drummer they do live.

Vices is huge. I love everything about Vices. I love how chaotic it is, I think it's one of their most unique songs in their discography. They have no other song like it.

 

Would have to go with Noro as my number one. Someone already said it, but it balances a chaotic darkness with melody and beauty and I think it's a phenomenal way to close out an album that is an amalgamation of those things.

 

I don't know about the last one, but the first 2 are utter nonsense.

It took me some time to fully appreciate Gasoline. I totally agree about the lyrics, especially when the band gets louds at the "great divide" part.

 

Yep that's the part in talking about. It's insane.


Also I'm echoing all the You Stole love. Idgaf what anyone says, that song is huge live, the climax is nuts. I've never and will never understand why so many people dislike it

 

I appreciate the input, guys! Good to hear everyone's opinion. I must say that while I really love At The Bottom, Bought a Bride, and Noro a fuck ton, Daisy is probably my favorite from the album. The bass that kicks in during the second verse reminds me of John Wick for some reason.

 

Probably my least favorite next to Bed on the album. I give it my all every time I listen to it, but I just can't get on board with it.

 

Bed is my least favorite Brand New song from anything post YFW.

Dude get in You Stole. When everything gets loud, those guitars... It's perfect.

 

I love Bed. It jumps right into it just like Vices, but Vices is jarring and powerful, whereas Bed is creepy and meandering. Perfect follow up imo

 

Vices, Gasoline, Bought A Bride and Noro for sure. The whole album is just awesome imo

 

Sink is probably my favourite- they opened with it first time I saw them live and the mood was just electric. If they opened with vices with the full intro I think I'd appreciate that in the same way, but otherwise it's probably You Stole. Love me a good slow burner.
