Not sure I'd say his best, but I really like this part:

Somebody either on ap or reddit suggested it might actually be "it never stops to ponder what it sinks", which makes it even more awesome, though it's hard to tell, and it sounds a little more like "sees" to me.

Some of my best friends are satellites, so it hit home.

 

I like the lines that Jason posted, and also the trumpet line. It's just so perfectly Brand New. A line that on paper is so simple and to the point, but alludes to religious beliefs and the end of the world.

 

Their Canada shows start June 1, so logic would dictate we're getting an album announcement in the next 30 days, or in the 2 weeks before the summer tour starts on June 28. This, of course, presupposes that 1) Brand New has the album finished and isn't sitting on it till next year and 2) that Brand New isn't actually just a collective fever dream and figment of our imaginations.

 

I can't see us getting an album announcement in the next 30 months...

I've been trying to find this out for over a decade.

 

If the album is done, if they're happy with the collection of songs, we will get an announcement this month.

If it isn't finished, or they're still wondering if it's good enough, we've got to wait for the end of the Summer (at least) for any more official details.

I'm hoping for the first scenario.

 

I think I've given up on getting an album.

When (if) it happens I'll be happy. But I gave up on waiting and hoping for it.

 

Expecting December release

 

Looks like a new Radiohead album to tide us over will come in June at least.

 

This is my mentality towards these guys, Frank Ocean... quite a few artists I love actually haha

 

To me it sounds kinda like "And I will prevail" so following off the other background lyrics, it would be "But I got a plan, and I will prevail"

I'm not 100% on it obviously, but it's something.

 

For some reason, I've always heard "no will to fight."

 

I believe 100% that we will have something, whether a single, announcement or album prior to June 1st

 

I bet @Jason Tate has had the album for months and knows they're just going to drop it right before the tour.

I had a dream about this, and I'm feeling prophetic. Also, Jason was an elderly woman who just didn't want to be judged for her music taste. So, take that as you will. I can't be wrong about these things.

 

they aren't big enough to "pull a beyonce" and drop the album without any promo so either we get a single/announcement before the tour or the lp isn't coming out until later in the year

 

They could easily announce and release an album in under a month.

 

Manchester Orchestra did it with Hope, and I feel like they're of comparable size. Hell, Brand New did it with Mene.

Anyway, I don't think he meant just release it outright per se, but something like "Here's the preorder page and cover art, album's out in two weeks."

 

can't really compare a stand alone single to a full album (presuming we're getting a full album).

even still, i doubt it. wouldn't make sense to release something without giving time for promo. if we don't get some sort of announcement within the next week or two then we won't be getting an album until after their summer tour.

 

I've been of the mind and have been saying for a couple months now, "If we don't get an announcement in the next week or two, it's not happening until the Fall..."

I am truly at the point where I am tempering expectations.

I love Brand New, but no band, no artist, nobody could ever meet the level of expectation I've built this "album" into. The same way Nolan couldn't follow up The Dark Knight with Rises meeting my expectations. The way Ken Levine and team could never make Bioshock Infinite as incredible as I had imagined the follow-up to the original Bioshock to be (Bioshock 2 doesn't count). I've done this "hype" thing far too many times to let myself put impossible pressure on human beings just doing what they love.

I'm thankful that Daisy grew on me, and my expectations were met years later as my impossible expectations gave way to the reality of what we got from Brand New. Since the build up to Daisy, I haven't anticipated a new album as much as I have LP5 and LP9 from Thrice.

 

I doubt it as well, I just don't think it's impossible or even that unlikely. Procrastinate did surprise releases for Heat Thing, Leaked Demos 2006 (besides the flyer a year earlier), and I think Greater Pyrenees.

That said, someone on reddit supposedly asked Kevin Devine when his next album would be out, and he supposedly said sometime between September and the end of the year, depending on when Brand New got their new record out, which sounds like they're aiming for the same time frame, assuming the guy isn't lying for internet points.

 

I think the implication that people came away with on that conversation was that P!MT would want to space out releases, so Brand New would come out with LP5 in the Summer, and leave a few months to build up to K.Dev's release in the Fall.

All reddit speculation though, and as you said, we don't know if this guy's account of talking with Kevin was genuine.
