I feel this. I loathe Muse. But I completely understand how talented they are at their craft. Doesn't mean I like their music - to me it's all just operatic singing over noise but that's my opinion and I've not listened to them in absolutely forever. Plus, a mate overplayed them beyond death and into the oblivion so I just can't.
With Biffy though, I definitely do like a good 5/6 of their songs...I don't know what it is. As a whole and a band, they just don't appeal to me. I've seen them play an incredible show and still walked away content with the fact that I'm not interested in listening to them.
My dad has their Live In Wembley dvd and Machines on that is absolutely bloody excellent on that, though. Not a fan of the studio version however.

Anyways yes - major tangents. I agree. I've personally never really come across anybody who listens to them regularly, but they are indeed hugely popular and clearly put on a good show.

 

Brand New is one of those bands where I find out years later that I have been singing the wrong words all along.

I used to think Flying at Tree Level went:
"We were doomed from the start
Our stutters are: 'why am I doing this?'"

I'm still not sure if it says "as lovers are" or "as starters are". the lyrics sites out there say lovers I think but it def sounds like starters

 

Haha it made sense to me! I think it's "starters," but what do I know? Haha

 

I don't actually know anyone that likes them! I saw them live in 2004 when they were pretty well known in an indie sort of way, and I really didn't get them then either, even though I tried. Just seemed a bit bland and never clicked.

But yeah, like you say, I guess that proves the point! I wouldn't have necessarily thought they had the pull to play this many arena shows at this point in their career either, so maybe that says something too about my view of them.

For anyone that likes both bands its no doubt awesome. I don't doubt they're a good live band and I can imagine they'll put on a good spectacle too.

Awesome! I'm looking for a copy of this as well but have just settled for the fact that I'll never get it without shelling out an ungodly amount of money that I'm not willing to.

Information Report: Kevin Devine's 'Instigator', Brand New US and UK Tours

 

So they're going to give us a status report with no word on single or album from BN? Must've been scrapped.

 

Yeah no mention at all on album or new single is lame af

 

Ugh. So frustrating.

 

The information reports aren't just BN specific, they are information reports for the label. why does the information report for Kevin Devine have to mention BN at all?

 

The previous reports specifically said 'upcoming release in 2016' for Brand New...Now it's not saying anything about a release at all.

 

and also contained information about a single being released "this summer," now they're dropping that information entirely?

 

Technically it's still summer. Nobody said you aren't getting another single. This report seemed to be more about Kevin Devine. Maybe you'll get anther one soon with more info. Literally no reason to be frustrated about this email IMO

 

There's still two more weeks before this summer is over. So two more weeks before our hopes and dreams are crushed.
