What did you title the EP? I'm way too OCD about my library to go creating my own collections ha.

 

Yeah usually I am too, but I thought it'd be neater this way instead of having duplicates. I just have it titled "Demos Reworked". I might flip those words around, but I haven't decided yet.

The new "1996" fills me with so much joy. I've always loved this song and love, love, love this better quality version.

 

Ugh I want one. Why not go ahead and put these up for sale?

EDIT: Pretty cool that the sleeve is die-cut.

 

I'm feeling the same way. Ready to just buy it. Bummed they weren't already selling these on Saturday.

 

Yeah if they were in hand and already planning on selling them today, why wait? I'm sure they have a reason though.

 

Hopefully one big press release. About this, PMT-005, and finally give us the second single and release date for LP5.

This is why I am the way I am. Can't set expectation too high.

That's more likely to happen than LP5 at this point.

 

Really didn't see this coming at all but after listening I'm so glad they've done this. Brothers with the whole band is an entirely new level of excellent, and Missing You finally is the song that what must be one of Brand New's best choruses ever justifies - even though it feels like right before the chorus comes in it holds off a little. 1996 is solid as well but it was one of the few which was really solid beforehand imo, but still the final two minutes are a lot more grandiose than before.

This is one of the reasons I love Brand New - they may not be terribly active but when they are, it's extremely surprising and almost always entirely awesome.

 

Didn't think it was possible they could make these songs any better but, you know, I should stop doubting Brand New's ability to write incredible music. Couldn't click "Purchase" fast enough on BandCamp, especially after hearing the songs beforehand.

My biggest question moving forward is still what exactly this album is going to sound like. They've released all these demos from between Deja Entendu and The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, two officially released songs that sound nothing alike ("Mene" and "I Am A Nightmare"), and the songs they've been playing live ("Sealed To Me," etc.). Coupled with the fact that this band has never released two albums that sound alike, I really am at a loss at what to expect.

Honestly, the uncertainty and doubt is just making me the most excited I've been for any release by any band I can recall, really. I guess mission accomplished, Brand New.

 

Never Finished.

 

I wonder if that implies they'll be doing this for other demos, even after they finish up touring and releasing new music. 'Never Finished' makes it seem like they still have work to do.

 

My theory on the "never finished" that is in the 3 demos vinyl and on the download card of the other recent vinyl.

I believe "never finished" is actually referring to the demos that were leaked and never finished. I don't believe that this refers to being "never finished" as a band.

Logically makes the most sense to me at least.

 

Definitely makes more sense, seems odd to include it in the I am a Nightmare card though if that's the case.

 

Yeah these new workings are so cool. Plus it's just like more new BN music to me because until this last Nov I never heard the 2006 demos. Everyone has already had so many memories/feelings attached to them, and with this it's like I'm discovering them all over again.

New Missing You is great.

 

Only thing I can think of is it was either a teaser for the now released demos or IAAN was a demo we never heard.

 

Could Never Finished be the album name?

 

That makes sense and also a double entendre trolling their break up cause they like to mess with people

 

Really enjoyed seeing them tonight. Play crack the sky was great as always, enjoyed tatou at the end of you wont know as well.. 1996 was great but the people I was with didn't know it and they had no energy. Will be interesting to see them close on Saturday.
