I wish they'd stop with the cryptic shit.

I almost wanna agree with the people who hope they break up 2018 so the guessing game can end.

 

Yep, they know either way we're going to eat it up, just fucking say "this is the last tour we'll be doing", or "We'll do one more tour for the new album but that'll be it" Enough with the cryptic shit as y'all are on the way out the door soon.

 

So they have new merch for this tour?

 

I personally love the cryptic stuff. I think it's fun and engaging to follow, and it certainly keeps my interest in the band. I'm firmly in the camp of "I love their albums, so I'm okay with nothing else."

 

The new merch line seems to be heavily related to the card that went out with the lyric booklets. That line, the 2018 stuff etc.

 

Oh I love it too, especially in regards to the album. But not the fact that they say they're done in two years, and "we're done, thats what makes this night more special" with a new album coming out. If you're not touring again, say so, but if you know you're going to tour in support of the album its okay to say that too.

He didn't say this in any sort of light hearted joking way. It was very blunt and kind of forceful almost.

are they being kind of lame or douchey about it all? Sure. Cryptic? Not really.

 

jayzuz christ. looking at the pictures from last night i didn't realize that it'd be outside. looking at the crowd gives me anxiety. also setlist didn't look like anything i haven't seen before so i feel vindicated for not dropping $60 bones on it

 

also how brand new is it that they put sealed to me on the setlist as an encore and then didn't play it

 

I have to say, I enjoyed t way more outside than the shows I've seen inside. Way better sound

 

Yeah that was lame. I was expecting to hear it.

The irony between their band name and their setlist is quite amusing.

 

Going in to this show I thought I was "over" Brand New. I thought I had stopped caring. I had told myself I didn't care that maybe they don't like each other, that they don't like making music and that they are literally only doing this for money.

Seeing Thrice this past weekend was incredible. They looked like they were having so much fun, that they genuinely love what they do and each other.

So as I was watching Brand New last night I couldn't help but wish they were like Thrice. I wish they liked making music together still. It just seems like they are all over it now, which is sad.

Ok so the set list was whatever, I've seen this set like 6 times now. But I can't help but get a thrill every time I see them. Even though Brand New seems to be done with the whole thing and ready to move on, they put on a heck of a show. Vin is as always a wild man.

After Jesse said the whole "Oh yeah we are done...... No really we are done. It makes nights like this all the more special". It made the last few songs (Sowing Season, Jesus, Limousine) hit me pretty damn hard. It felt like this might be MY last time seeing them live. Sure they may tour, but the tone and the feeling felt final. It was really special and I even got a little bit emotional, like slightly choked up during the outro they do for Limousine.

Now they may and probably will do a proper final tour or whatever. But this show definitely felt like the beginning of the end. It was a solemn experience leaving the show for me.

 

How was Modest Mouse?

I actually didn't end up staying for Modest Mouse. I really really wanted to, but I had an hour and a half drive ahead of me to get home and had to get up early for work
