Best case scenario: they occasionally release music but stop touring

 

I might start trolling just to see Jason flex his insider info some more.

 

It's cause "breaking up" has a negative connotation. Like we HAVE to stop because of a falling out maybe, but in their case it's not. The whole "eighteen forever" is a nod to their legacy and this whole situation is more of a celebratory end than a falling out.

 

I have no idea if you were being facetious with this comment, but I mostly agree with it. I'll be seeing Brand New twice on this tour (also exploring Denver as an added bonus), but I am dreading being around (some of) the fanbase.

When I saw them in Phoenix last year, the same guy that kept trying to pick fights with everyone also wanted to hear Magazine. So there's that.

I do kinda hate their fanbase (or a faction of it) sometimes it's a level of entitled and bro-down of epic proportions. Haha. But the comment was a play on their old merch.

I really do enjoy watching some of the speculation from the fanbase, but at some times, I picture the fanbase as Kathy Bates in Misery. Jesse Lacey gonna light us on fire with a broken kneecap because we're demanding another album.

With that - the bro fan base is just awful. It is like they're all Duke grads or something.

i used to be super into the speculation when i was a little bit younger, but i dno, its just weird to me now.

 

My general fandom with brand new consists of them being my favourite band and will lap up anything and everything they put out basically. Outside of that I find people digging around in holes looking for magic clues utterly mental.

 

I hadn't. This is great though. I'm a huge video game fan (where people have been sending death threats due to No Man's Sky's delay), a comic fan (Hydra Captain America, or "let's have everyone call in and see if Jason Todd should live"), and a Brand New fan. "The fan, I thought, couldn't tell where they ended and where the thing they loved began." Now that doesn't sound like us at all. Cripes, people. Don't hug the puppy so tight that you kill it.

Sidenote: I didn't see any Captain America fans get up in arms when Steve Rogers was a Skrull during Secret Invasion - arguably worse than Hydra /s.

 

Although it's 7:30am and I'm getting ready for work and one of the first things I did with my day was come on here to talk about Brand New.. So maybe I'm the one with an issue.

 

I wish I was involved with this fan base a few years ago. Were people really digging under fucking water towers to find a USB??????

well, yeah, but it wasnt for this band... the only reason people were doing it though is because they thought it was Brand New. it was Shone.

During that whole thing, there was some weird thing about sending blood or whatever to an address and there were at least three people that literally cut themselves and sent blood to an address for Brand New. I ... I don't know. I told them not to. No one listens to me. Hahah.
