  1. "Vices" sounds like something off of Fugazi's first album. And I love it for that.

I really will always think TDAG is overrated, so I don't know. I think Daisy is their best album without contest (though I know most people disagree and I'm basically just setting myself up to be attacked).

    TDAG > Deja > Daisy > YFW

I'm open to the argument that Daisy is better than Deja, but Deja will simply always mean more to me.

This so much, like Daisy is a better album and I listen to it more at the moment but Deja will probably be their most important album to me, maybe even more than TDAG

When did you get into Brand New? Post TDAGARIM I presume?

Early 2013 I think. I bought TDAG at FYE because I remember the praise it got on ap, and thought the artwork was cool. I liked it and bought Deja, liked that then bought Daisy, liked that then bought YFW (did not and do not like that though). Over time though the only album that has really stuck is Daisy. I don't think Deja or TDAG are bad, I just don't enjoy them as much as other music I listen to (including Daisy). Haha

I think I love vices because of the line about fifty slices of bread. I mean, that's 25 sandwiches. And I love sandwiches.

*Hisses* I personally think it's incredible and better than anything else they've ever put out. Daisy is phenomenal to me, a close second in my estimations, and a brilliant follow-up. But for me, TDAG is where it's at.

Haha yeah, TDAG for me is half flawless half whatever. Though, I can see why people would really like the songs I think are just whatever. I've liked Daisy the most since I got it though, and was super confused to see a lot of AP people hated it. Hahaha I'm happy to see most of the people who made the transition to chorus know how brilliant it is.

Yellowcard has put out more albums since their reunion than Brand New has albums (and since Daisy)

I'm glad I got into BN's stuff in order. I think it's helped me appreciate each album for what it is.

Honestly, if YFW was the first album I listened to I would never have listened to another one. haha So I'm glad TDAG was first.

While it wasn't my first, it was TDAG that got me hooked too. It made me appreciate the previous albums more so, somehow.

I still love it to this day. There's some great singalongs. I was 13 I think, when I first heard it.

I think it's just not a genre I really like. I try not to judge it too harshly because of that. I'm glad it connects with so many people though, even if I'm not one of them.

Oh absolutely, there's some fantastic singalongs on there. But other than Soco, I have to be in a certain mood for YFW, and that's not too often!

I think YFW probably gets the most plays for me simply because of the accessibility of it. Its such a fun album. The rest I usually need to devote myself to the entire listen.

The lyrical content really keeps me from playing YFW too much. I loved it when i was 17 and 18 but as a 27 year old I just can't get into it anymore.

  22. It's kinda sad that even those lyrics are better than "Handcuffs." Ever wonder if deep down the band knows they blew the perfect album by one song?

i love Handcuffs. couldnt imagine any other song closing out the record. i think it is perfect, and perfectly encompasses the emotions / feelings / themes of the album. I feel like lyrically it is the perfect narrative for "the devil and god" actually raging inside someone.

What's the theme of the album and how is that expressed in that song? Shoe horning the narrative just a tad if you ask me. It's too bad. So close. Just not a good song.

Man I love the lyrics to handcuffs. I had no idea some people didn't adore that as a closer
