I've seen them close with You Won't Know, Welcome To Bangkok, and Sowing Season. I would love to see either Soco or Play.

the seats I really wanted (off to the side stage left right in the front) wouldn't go through, so I had to settle with some further back. but the first set still show up as available. do I risk buying choice number 1 and not be able to sell what I have?

So if you people here at the Wolstein look back at all the people in the 200 section directly to the left and right of the stage you'll see crowded it is. if you look at decent 200 seats you'll see they are empty. they are checking tickets and sending people back.

Brand New was awesome. My girlfriend slept through their set. Guess they must not be that great live.

Not sure how that is even possible they are one of the loudest bands I've ever seen

Yeah, how does one fall asleep (and stay asleep) during a concert? haha.

    My thoughts on the show:

*They said Doors were at 6, although they didn't open until 6:30 and even then, it still took about 30 more minutes to get in (at least in my line, it looked like other lines were zipping through).

    * I don't follow Modern Baseball, but I've heard enough of them to get there early to check out their set. I thought they were pretty good. I didn't think the venue was too big for them or anything. They sounded fine.

    * The Front Bottoms were really good. It was my 5th time seeing them, and I posted in here earlier when I've seen them in bigger venues, sometimes it's not a great fit for their sound, but I thought they sounded incredible.

    * It was my 9th time seeing Brand New and they were great as always. Only did the 5-song set to begin the show (IAAN, Quiet, Spin light, Tommy Gun, Play Crack). I thought IAAN as the opener was a little underwhelming to be honest, but I"m glad I finally got to hear it live. I think Mene or Quiet Things would have been a better choice to open with. They played a little jam session during the breakdown of Tommy Gun that I've never seen them do before my prior 8 times seeing them.

Five songs really fly by, it was kind of weird seeing them play Play Crack the Sky in the beginning of their set. I feel like TDAG started before I even knew it, like I was just settling into the show. I would have loved to see a 8 or 9 song set before TDAG, but it is what it is. TDAG in its entirety was incredible. So many jam sessions throughout all the songs. Honestly, I'd pay to see this band just to play instrumentally for a few hours. They've mastered that. The Untitled to close out the show was absolutely great. Them showing highlights of the band in the background during their earlier days was like watching an episode of Friday Night Lights or something, it was really kind of sad in a way, like the end is near and Jesse saying "Hopefully, there will be a next time" was kind of heartbreaking. Jesse really didn't talk at all, which isn't unusual, but this was probably the least I've ever seen him address the crowd. I feel like over the past few years he's become more social on stage.

    * Lastly, I had kind of been worried about them playing at Wolstein Center since this show was announced and I gotta say, in my 9 times seeing Brand New, I thought this crowd was extremely weird. The entire second deck was pretty much empty with the exception of a few pockets of people and the first deck was pretty full, but half the people were sitting all night and looked disinterested when I would look around. And the floor (which could have fit probably another 1,000 people on it) was kind of annoying. I had one girl in front of me LITERALLY snap chat the entire show. Like, put her phone up, film, share her story, then go right back up and start again - about a million times in a row) I wanted so bad to tell her to stop and enjoy the fucking show right in front of you. Then I had a few dudes just going ballistic right next to me, which is cool and all, but if you're going to do that, try to get up in the front, not near the back when everyone is kind of chilled out and just enjoying the show.

    Set Times:

    Modern Baseball: 7:20 - 7:45

    The Front Bottoms: 8 - 8:45

    Brand New: 9:20 - 11

Good write-up. Excited to see them on Sunday but afraid the venue is going to be too big. I saw Sigur Ros at Roy Wilkins a few years ago and it just echoed weird since it wasn't at capacity of 5000. I don't get people who sit and snapchat the whole time, I had a guy do it at the Thrice show with Instagram, he would spend more time editing the photos before he would send them off. Spent 90% of the show on the phone absolutely. At full brightness.

Cleveland was good. Got there at 6:30 but had to wait in line in the rain without a jacket for like 15 minutes. My girlfriend and I had lower deck seats in the first row. Because we had no one in front of us, we just sat the whole time (also I'm am a mid-twenties sell out punk, get off my lawn.) MoBO sounded really great, Front Bottoms sounded even better. It's weird seeing bands go from playing basements and living rooms to massive venues. "You Won't Know" extended was probably the best time I've ever seen them play it. We left halfway through Untitled to beat the Uber rush (worked out in my favor: waited 5 minutes, regular fare, only paid 5 bucks for the ride.) TDAG all the way through was really really awesome, but honestly I would've liked to see just a regular set with a mix of songs, especially from Daisy. I've seen them 5 times though so I guess I'm just nitpicking.

Hadn't been back to a show at the Wolstein Center since my first show ever, which was Slipknot in grade school. Sound was pretty good – only complaint was that some MoBo songs sounded too echoey.

Crowd seemed weird. My friend in the pit said people on the floor were 100% intolerable and awful.

Wolstein Center in Cleveland has a 14,000 Capacity, although half the venue was closed off...My guess is there was about 5,000-6,000 people there (I could be way off). If your venue is 5,000 capacity, I'd say it'd be almost full. Brand New sold out Nautica in Cleveland last summer, which is 5,000 cap.

Yep. Floor was bad. By the way, I'm 31. I wasn't knocking people for sitting, especially if you had front row. It just kind of looked weird from the floor to look out and see big pockets of people standing and then big pockets of people sitting, all kind of intertwined together. Some just looked not into it at all.

Agree with all the Cleveland write ups. It was great show, modern baseball was pretty good, 5th time seeing them but probably my least favorite time. TFB was great as always. Brand New was awesome. Great performances but the crowd was pretty bad. So many people talking during sets, lot of empty seats, so many snapchatters.

Going tonight! Not looking forward to the crowd at all though.

Thought the bands were great last night. People were extremely stupid during TFB though. Tried doing a wall of death during Cough It Out lol and just tons of like really hard moshing.

So glad I got to hear Quiet Things and all of TDAG was great

I agree with you that TDAG was awesome and I also would have just preferred a regular set with a mix of songs. Typically they play 5 or so TDAG songs anyway and I've seen all the songs a handful of times, but yeah, I guess that's just nitpicking!

I was on the floor but am 32 and went solo so I didn't get too crazy. I know it's already been said a few times, but the crowd was pretty weird. I think the worst (at least where I was) seemed to be during The Front Bottoms.

    A couple other things...

I went to grab a drink after The Front Bottoms and there were actually a decent amount of people leaving the show. Not a ton, but way more than I expected.

And did anybody else on the floor have any issues with the security? When I got inside I showed them my ticket, they put a black x on the back and I got my wristband. The wristband got me down to the floor no problem. Then after Modern Baseball I grabbed a drink and got back to the floor with no issues just by showing them my wristband. After The Front Bottoms ended, I grabbed another drink and made my way back to the floor entrance. I showed the lady my wristband and kept walking and she moved in front of me to block my path. I showed her my wristband again, just giving her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she just didn't see it and she told me that I needed to show her my ticket. I told her that clearly had a wristband and that I hadn't shown anybody my ticket since I got inside the venue at 7:00 but she said she didn't care. Just kind of annoying I thought. I mean, what's the point of the wristband then? Anyway, after that I started walking down the stairs and the lady at the bottom of the stairs started yelling at me. I had absolutely no idea what the issue was so I just figured she was yelling at someone else maybe. Nope, she was definitely yelling at me. Apparently they didn't want people to walk down the right-hand side of the staircase for some reason??? So I made my way over to the left-hand side to walk the rest of the way. Then the rest of the way down the security lady at the bottom of the stairs kept yelling at people that were walking on the "wrong side" of the stairs. Those stairs were specifically for entrance so it's not like there were people walking the other way. I don't know, maybe I'm just getting old, but that kind of stuff just annoys me. If there's a legitimate reason why the stairs can't be used, then put up a sign or rope it off or something.

Haha, that was a longer rant than I expected. Anyway, really fun show, only my second ever at Wolstein Center (I saw Nine Inch Nails there in 2013).

Funny you mention people walking out after TFB. I told my friend I was with that I wouldn't be surprised if more people were there to see TFB than Brand New. When Modern Baseball was on, and they were doing the whole 'who's excited to see TFB/Brand New' TFB definitely got a larger applause.

I personally didn't notice anyone leave (I actually thought it filled up a ton compared to when Modern Baseball were playing, but it doesn't surprise me.

The security was AWFUL and 100% the reason it took me 30 minutes to enter the arena. I was at Gate B in the middle line and the lines to the right and left of me were seriously zipping through. It took me probably 5x longer to get in. Why? Because the security jack ass who was doing the metal detector thing was having like a 2 minute conversation with each and every person walking in. Joking around with them, telling people to show 'your tough face' and 'you can do better than that'. Honestly had no idea what the dude was talking about.

I also heard the woman yelling at people for going down the steps on the right side. They also wouldn't let me go UP the steps. I had to walk to the other corner to go upstairs. So dumb.

It wasn't a ton of people leaving, but I'd say that I saw maybe 20 or 25 when I was walking by the doors. There were signs up on the doors saying no re-entry so I'm assuming they were leaving for good.

Yeah, I don't really understand the thought process of having one dedicated floor entrance and one dedicated floor exit. I mean, there are two separate sets of stairs, why not use both sets for both things? Maybe there's a good reason and I'm just not seeing it. When I got a drink after Modern Baseball I made my way to the staircase door (the one that was apparently for the exit) and there was an older security lady standing in front of it. I started opening the door and she told me that it was only an exit staircase and I had to enter at Gate B. She was nice about it and everything and it's not a huge deal to walk an extra 200 or whatever feet, I just thought it was a little strange. I don't go to much at Wolstein Center so maybe it's always like that.

We know it from the silence

It's funny that there was an article posted on here a few months ago about people turning in their phones before shows, and I commented on how cool it would be for people in front of me to not be snapchatting / instragramming the entire time. And people went NUTS, saying even suggesting people stay off their phones during shows is just unreasonable / deplorable. Glad to see I'm not the only one pretty annoyed with the phenomena (PS it was far less of a problem at this show for me than last time I saw La Dispute. That show was the WORST.)

Last night there seemed to definitely be a younger fan base for the openers, there were two girls behind me losing their minds for TFB that couldn't have been more than 16.
