I hate the setlist for my night even more now :(

 

They didn't play Mene or I Am A Nightmare at MSG so hope those stick around for the Allentown date. If I hear those two I'll have pretty much seen their entire discography outside of a b-sides and demos.

 

I was at the Portland, ME show on Saturday. What a performance. I am probably in the minority here, but coming out with Mene into I Am a Nightmare was awesome. When the first notes of Quiet Things kicked in...man, that was awesome. I would've loved something from Daisy or YFW, but regardless...what a special night. I still can't believe Brand New came and played my little corner of the world.

 

So are they switching up between playing TDAG first set and second set night to night?

Also, are they not playing TDAG in order? I thought I saw someone post saying they closed with Untitled.

 

They're skipping Untitled and moving it to the end of the set, other than that it's in order.

 

Interesting. I was kind of hoping to see Handcuffs as the closer, since I adore that song. Was night 1 of the tour the only night they began with TDAG first?

If I don't get Quiet Things at my date I will be very upset. I've seen them probably over 10 times now and still haven't seen that one. Also hope they keep At The Bottom in the initial set

This will be my 9th time seeing Brand New and I believe I've only seen Quiet Things once, and that was during the Deja full album show.

I'd like to see I am a Nightmare, because at this point, it's one of the only BN songs I've never seen performed live. They didn't play it at the Modest Mouse show I saw them at this summer in Pittsburgh because their set was cut short due to technical difficulties and they left IAAN and Mene off the setlist. Although I did see Mene in 2015.

 

Just for the record, that doesn't necessarily mean they are recording crowd sounds. A lot of bands like to have the crowd as a part of their in-ear mix.

 

Yeah that was bummer in Pittsburgh. I finally got to see IAAN at Riot Fest and it was awesome. Hopefully we get both of those! Really excited for Thursday

 

I'm going to have a very very long right up when this tour is done but for now enjoy this video I took of the video games / play crack the sky in Portland.

Going the 8th, can't remember ever going to an album anniversary show so its got me wondering.

Do they take a break between the devil and god portion and the other songs or just roll one into the other?

 

On the first night (when they played TDAG first) they left the stage after Handcuffs before coming out to do the rest.

I know a lot of people are digging the sets from nights 2-3 better but I really enjoyed the set we had in Rochester - in general I liked having TDAG first, the only thing I didn't like is I feel like BN crowds always take a little while to warm up so Sowing Season wasn't as enjoyable as I typically like.

 

I'm going Thursday. I personally would rather them play TDAG first and then the random set. That way, the show will remain unpredictable until the end (at least the non TDAG set).

I'll enjoy it either way.

 

Yes to your question. Also with the way they play Untitled live, trust me you want it as the closer.

 

I feel your pain. When I saw them this summer, I finally heard Quiet Things after seeing them about 7-8 times and it was GLORIOUS! Hope they play it at your show!

It was incredible. Their set was so good. I forgot how much I enjoy this band live

 

I wish there were a way to keep up with the set list of a show song by song while it's going down.
