I got "Kid Lightning" from a wiffle ball bat that I found in a gas station in Michigan when some friends and I were on our way to camping.

 

I turned it/him into a superhero alter ego and created a costume and everything:

But the "Kid Lightning" part was just this cheap plastic wrap that cracked off as soon as one of us hit a ball with it. Still the best $4 I ever spent.

Brand New - Friend Request: denied (2018)

 

I mentioned my username origin story at the same time we were sharing our Brand New origin stories. But I think it can be a fun thing to do when there's a neat story behind it like @KidLightning

Mine isn't quite as special but here goes. Last time Brand New had a street team the password to access it was DejaYou. When I joined AP, I chose to go with DejaMe and once the Chorus transition happened I switched it to DejaMoi since it was already me get it? Fitting also since I'm French and DejaMoi makes more sense than DejaMe.

But Deja is only like my 3rd or 4th favorite BN album. Ok j'ai fini maintenant. Time to spin some Thrice and GSD.

Mine was derived from Misery Signal's Controller album because I was listening to it at the time when I signed up for chorus and I couldn't use my old name from AP. And it's my least favorite album from them, go figure.

Nowadays though I realize there are about 600 artists I like who have used the idea/term in their lyrics.

 

Can we shoot for next Monday maybe? About to leave work for rehearsal, then wedding tomorrow.

 

We better be posting on each others walls on our bdays. Is that what's considered a gift on facebook?
