I've never seen Mad Men. I have such a crazy backlog of things to watch that I might never get to it. Oh well.

Maybe someone can convince me of its importance.

Here is the thing. Mad Men isn't boring. I can see why someone giving the first season or two a go without really investing in it might think so. But they are wrong. The attention to detail+acting+characterization is just incredible. The fact that Walking Dead would get all the attention from AMC when it had Mad Men airing drove me crazy cause it's just soooo much better

I tried to watch it twice. Both times fell asleep during the first 3 episodes. Tried hard to watch it but just couldn't after that. Maybe it gets better.

2 seasons is a long time to watch a show without really wanting to watch it

Saw B&C right before La Dispute at a festival a few years back and the highlight was them soundchecking with Only In Dreams

I left during Balance's set on their tour w Foxing because while they sounded very good, they looked very uncomfortable being on stage and it was kind of boring. To be fair, how do you follow up one of the best live bands in this scene? Then the fans got waaaaay too rowdy when they played old songs and I'm like ok time to go

  7. Mad Men is my favorite show of all time what is going on in this thread

  8. Most of the best shows ever take a season or at least a handful of episodes to get going ... The Wire, Breaking Bad, Parks and Rec., etc.

(That said: the first season of MM is great. The last episode is one of the best episodes of TV ever.)

Haha I'll try to watch it again. I just wasn't too excited about the old-timey-ness of it. Like that was cool but it just wasn't enough to keep me awake.

I suppose I could reschedule my ~5th full rewatch of Parks and Rec or my 1,000th full rewatch of The Office (which is basically seasons 1 - 7.5 with the occasional trip down the rest of the seasons) to watch Mad Men.

All 3 of those caught me right away without me having to try to like it. It could just be me, my sister liked it alot. I usually give shows like 4 or 5 episodes if It doesn't catch me I sometimes give up on it.

I almost gave up on Twin Peaks, but I was baptized and saved in this very thread. This...this is a holy place.

I said I'd try it again. It's also hard to invest in tv shows now that i have like 1.5 hours of TV time per night maximim. Don't like tk waste that

  17. The Office is 3.5 seasons only. Easy to get through.

I'm pretty sure there was a moment that this wasn't the Brand New album thread, but no one will tell me what it temporarily was.

I honestly don't know what seasons I'd cut out. There are some filler episodes, but it would be like trying to pick which of my many kids I would neglect.

  24. I'd cut everything after Michael drives into a lake and it'd be an incredible run. I've never watched a show go downhill as much as that one did. It was painful to watch it happen.

Yeah I dunno. That show is just unreal good. Also Roger Sterling is probably my favorite tv character of all time
