i somehow, in this day and age, managed to introduce a younger friend to Brand New. I think somebody mentioned this already, but wow, watching somebody learn, listen to, and start to 'get' this band is so exciting and fun

first of all there's nothing wrong with system of a down. now I wouldn't say that they sound that similar though.

 

My mom doesn't know shit about music haha. One time I was playing Frank Ocean's Self Control and she thought it was heavily inspired by Jack Johnson

 

although after listening to this song I can hear some things with the drums and the tones of the guitars that remind me of SOAD.

 

Eh I hate System of a Down

 

Yeah SOAD sucks a lot but I'm listening to Fugazi right now so that's pretty awesome. We can talk about Fugazi instead.
