I loved the thrice record from last year but I feel that they can do better. It was better than major minor and it was a great return album, but I feel that they have another album on the level of beggars or vhiessu. I actually really like major minor besides a few flaws here and there.

I agree really stoked for whatever they will put out next def a great comeback record and think the next one has the potential to be something special.

How was All Get Out did you ask Nathan what he thinks of SF?!

where would i be if i was my brain Prestigious

wondering if I should do the same. I'm scared the festival and SF dates are gonna be the last on the West Coast

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

Finally listened to this record while reading along with the lyrics.

"Lit Me Up", "Can't Get It Out", "Waste", "in The Water", and "Batter Up" are up there with Lacey's best.

They wrote in their email it's their only west coast dates of 2017, so I'm assuming there will be some 2018 ones

Haven't followed this thread but I feel like it's likely they do Coachella and ends up being their So Cal dates next year.

Last time they played Coachella they played the shrine in LA in between weekends. I'd hate if they only played a 50 minute festival slot for their last show here

I hope you're right, I was pretty disappointed with their last 2 albums.
Beggars is easily in my top 15 albums, I would love for them to recapture that magic

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

6 hours since the last post in this thread. Everyone overplay it already? Hah. I'm still taking my time with it. However, it has been difficult to play anything else. I did listen to thr new Good Old War EP. Also listened to the new Iron & Wine.

I haven't listened to it since Friday evening. Not for lack of wanting to, but for simply not having a spare hour to devote to it. Spun it in the minivan on an hour round trip, with the noises of my children meaning that I wasn't actually listening to it.

We reach for the longest shadow

I listen on Saturdays while I'm out and about, but Sundays I don't listen to much. It's also not exactly driving around from place to place on a sunny Saturday. That's what that new Turnover is for. B-)

ive recently come to appreciate Thrice more and I'd say Beggars, Vheissu, and ofc Illusion could stack up against BNs best but honestly both bands are top notch.

Brand new and Thrice are my two favorite bands by a wide margin. I remember my first exposure to both bands vividly. Thrice came first by about 3 months or so for me. I've lived with both bands for 15 years.

It is crazy to think that, at 31, I'm still obsessing over their new releases. So, the last year or so has been great for me in that regard.

Anyways, most days I'll tell you that Thrice is my absolute favorite band and that TDAG is my absolute favorite record. Every once in a while, I'll proclaim that, actually, Brand New is my favorite band and Vheissu is my favorite record.

I couldn't imagine making an argument that one is better than the other because they are superior musicians. That seems like a silly benchmark. Are they trying to say one has a more diverse catalogue? Or, like, are they literally saying that Tepppei can run through scales faster than Vin? I don't really get it.

I like this a lot. I'd probably prefer Noro to Batter Up. And I'd like Jesus in their somewhere. But yeah, I'd be down like a clown in the second round for that show.

I get it. I really do.

It leaves me defenseless, dependent, and alone.
