Dude 451 last? I honestly think rating songs for this album is pretty pointless. It's not of those records that has clear tracks that are so much stronger than others imo. Some I didn't like as much at the beginning are now some of my favorites. It's like Devil and God it's too strong to rank and pit them up against each other. But I know rankings are very popular here so rank away ppl.

I guess I get my fix from rym when it comes to that stuff since on that site you can rate the album and also rate each individual tracks too if you want.

 

if you don't have 137 in your top 3 then you are wrong, I am sorry

Damn, I thought the lyric was "We can all go vape tonight." Huge bummer, ruined the album for me

Could never be heaven last??? think its a perfect acoustic song. So beautiful and really conveys the emotion of the song well.

 

Seriously, I don't know what a lot of people hear because it seems fairly well regarded by us Brand New nuts but Moshi Moshi is dire.

I love the lyrics on it. Also it gives a huge Springsteen vibe which I love. I dunno I just really connected with it and it was all I listened to for a month straight. What don't you like about it?

 

My absolute favorite track is definitely LitMeUpCan'tGetItOutWasteCouldNeverBeHeavenSameLogic/Teeth137OutofManaIntheWaterDesertNoControl451BatterUp.

 

I don't like that lyric, mainly because using the word "thighs" to refer to sex has always bugged me. Some people don't like the word "moist", I DEFINITELY do not like the word "thighs". Just that word makes me cringe, I don't know why. The one only time I don't mind it is The Story So Far's "Mt. Diablo".

Lyrically it is pretty weak, and the theme of shooting an ex-lover is clicheé, which is why it falls in my bottom 10. Musically, it's standard YFW, so yeah, bottom 10. It's still an actual song, though, so it's ahead of "Be Gone".

that TSSF lyric is arguably worse than the BN one

 

Felt like a retread of the self-titled (which I love, prob #2 RA album for me) with weaker songs. I've given it like 4-5 listens and the only songs I like are "Outbound Train", "Tightrope", and "To Be Without You".

 

The two numbered tracks, combined with all of the lyrical references makes this the most "complete" sounding Brand New album to me. Feels tightened up in the way that I assume they wanted given last year's letter. This is compared to something like TDAG, which is like they bottled brilliance in real time and it just works rather than refining it.

 

Lit Me Up and Could Never be Heaven are the songs that I have kind of elevated above the rest of the album, marginally, at this moment. From the first listen, they had kind of stood out.

Beyond that, I literally don't even want to try to rank the rest of the songs against each other. There is just soooo much to love about each one.

Love the 2nd half of Out of Mana...first half is slowly growing on me.

Another way of phrasing it would have been that my favorite track is all of them.
