haha ok, I vividly remember reading that name on AP and then it changing and the debate around it. God we're all old now

 

So old.

 

Man, the solos on this record are exceptional. Best use of solos I've heard in a long time.

 

I think "Sink" was the first Daisy song someone sent me and I was blown away.

Still remember the advance coming and hearing "Vices" the first time and couldn't believe it was real.

 

We all see what once was beautiful has turned and old and grey

 

haha I feel old at 29 anyways, especially like reviews have pointed out all the life that's happened between Daisy and SF

 

I remember when Daisy leaked or people had it and reading their reactions in realtime on AP and everyone being like "wtf is this intro on Vices......OMG WHAT IS THIS NOISE"

 

daisy was the third album leak I ever downloaded. First common existence, then beggars, then daisy. I think beggars leaked before daisy.

I lied. 2nd best album I have heard in 6-7 years.

 

Beggars leaked in like early June. Well over 3 months before the planned release.

 

I'm not certain on this but I think my first leak was Graduation

Have since bought the album of course.

A comment that I made: not at all. it sounds completely different. and the first song has a very weird intro of a lady singing and then out of nowhere they start screaming.

How can an album be this long but feel so short?

 

How long did it take for you to realize it was one of the best openers ever done?

 

I know. I'm just saying that eight years between release is too much. I'm impressed that at this point it's the same four guys that make up Brand New. They may have wrote the album and recorded it in the course of two months. But they weren't gonna release a sub par album. To me, Daisy I good but not great. I really think Science Fiction 3 years after Daisy would have been perfect. And then we'd be discussing the follow up to Science Fiction now.

I just don't get the huge gap. It was nice to get Mene, I am a Nightmare and a proper demo release finally, but those a still recent.

 

I feel like one of my first, but probably not my first, full album leaks was Deja.

I'm glad we didn't get an album of mene and iaan. Very glad

 

I was young and naive until Jr. High when it came to realizing that albums leak.

 

I deleted the leak of daisy bc I thought it was fake when I heard vices

 

Can this album get a page om Metacritic already? Reviews thus far (Billboard, Stereogum, Vulture, Brooklyn Vegan) are all GLOWING.
