I think Out Of Mana is an obvious choice for a new song to play live. It's the fullest song on the album. Plus, that ending is amazing. I wonder if they'll include it if they do play it.

The whole album is a dream then. Cool it's a good dream

 

My girlfriend said I really have to stop listening to the album before bed. That might help hopefully. Easier said than done thing to do tho when before this year between Mene and IAAT we had about a little over 5 minutes of new music from BN and now it's 61+ minutes and none of it feels wasted. I can't get enough. I wish the album was even longer actually lol

One of the coolest easter eggs of Lit Me Up is that the song starts with the sample, recounting the woman's dream, and then the last lyric of the song is "It was a good dream".

Same Logic/Teeth what a tune eh. This fucking album I tell ya. Now that the album is here, I love Sapone's posts on IG. He seems like one cool dude.

 

Okay, album is downloaded on my phone. Excited to hear it and share my feelings with you.

 

I just got through my 10th listen since this came out on Thursday. God this album is special. I think now I'm going to play through Deja, TDAG, and Daisy before coming back to this tonight. This is the only album I've listened to since Thursday.

 

We've talked a lot about their discography following the Kübler-Ross model of the five stages of grief, and in general I feel like we've always been over reading into it.

That said, "Batter Up" is a perfect song of Acceptance.

 

Batter Up only becomes more crushing the more I've heard it.

 

Finally got through the record for a first-listen... and what a disappointment. When the whole "omg new Brand New! I love it all!" hype has faded it'd be interesting to see how people rank the album amongst others.

Still early days for judgement and there's some potential growers, but 'Can't Get It Out' is the only real stand-out track for me. Even Daisy was honestly better than this.

TDAG > Deja > YFW > Daisy > SF.

 

Someone in that fb group went to the coordinates and it's the location from Close Encounters of the third kind. She found a pole/stick with numbers and letters on it but I don't really think much came out of it.

kinda weird to me that the people who don't like the album can't find even one song that they enjoy. just seems like you wanted something else and you're unhappy they didn't make the album that you wanted.

 

This band (and Sapone) has been so good at creating mood with the last 3 records.

The wash of keys in the chorus of In The Water is so satisfying.

 

Remember when there was a rumor for a small amount of time that Will Yip was producing this? Thank god for Sapone

 

I went into the album with the mindset of "Okay Brand New, you could have stayed silent, but you didn't. You must have something to say" and wow, they did. It made me appreciate the record a lot more when I put aside my expectations and observed their creation.
