I didn't know it was on Apple Music and I was talking to my friend about the album and telling him it wasn't on streaming services yet, while he was looking it up and he looked at me and said "this album" and then I threw my phone across the room or if joy.

 

Honestly if I knew this album would be so good I would have snatched up a Boston ticket the second they went up a few days ago.

Also holy shit it was only three days ago that this album was even announced.

Also the guitar tones are out of this world and the samples might be my favorite part. They never feel forced, they just enhance and elevate it to another level. Best way I can descibe this record like all BN records, this album is an experience to listen to and i wouldnt want it any other way. Im disapointed that i started playing it on Apple Music on Waste and not from the beginning. Shame on me I should of known better.

 

Haha I literally was about to give up and YouTube it. Sucks not having a normal computer. I could have just downloaded it!

 

Words I never thought I'd say about a new Brand New album after such a long and very frustrating wait:

I think this is their masterpiece.

like I still can't even comprehend that they scrapped an entire album and somehow managed to release their fucking magnum opus. utterly amazing.

and echoing the thought others have had: thank you so goddamn much brand new for at least getting this out there before trump and/or the climate kills us all

 

I mean TDAG still exist so to be fair it's their second masterpiece but yeah it's hard to believe. As it turns out that letter they wrote last year was no joke at all. They weren't going to release anything unless it could come close to that masterpiece and gee golly gosh darnit they just might have done it eh

decently enough usually if i can make them laugh theyll at least leave like a dollar or so.

i half joke about them being overrated. i cant stand the fanbase but Deja onward is a pretty solid run. TDAG is a no-brainer when it comes to modern classics, Daisy is so heavy and aggressive i cant help but enjoy it, Deja is one of the better emo records to come from its time, and FOYD is possibly my favorite release of theirs if we also tack on some of the other non-album tracks like Mene and Out Of Range and Coca Cola.

this album might end up being my favorite of theirs but honestly i have no clue at this point. im still picking up new things and for whatever reason this album has put their back catalog in a new light for me. lines that i originally laughed at as being juvenile i now view as kind of being there purposefully to counteract the very morose songwriting that Jesse has a knack for. its very much in the spirit of a Morrissey or Robert Smith or even a Kurt Cobain.

 

All modern mastering is garbage

Ive always loved the line its all in your head (shout out to that Eve 6 album) and this record uses that line many times. There is so much going on in every song that is what is sticking with me the most. Magnum opus numéro 2. Apologies to anyone I have offended with my thread takeover.
