One of the BEST bands ever! "Friends" was my top album last year & gets spun weekly. Flew from FL to Boston to see them!!!

 

How I felt when people were like "I didn't like SF anyway"

 

yeah, i don't understand why people mention negative quality of anything when it comes to allegations, all that does is give the people who don't want to believe victims even more ammo to be like "you don't like them that's why you're spreading these rumors!!" sort of thing

 

Whoaaa it was just announced that 2018 will be the final cross country Warped Tour. Good riddance, but wow

The way they word it in the release, it sounds like it will just become some type of festival. Maybe an east and west coast date, or a 3 day weekend type thing.

 

I mean, if that's what they want to do I still won't go.

 

Warped? There is a full tour for 2018, and then some sort of 2019 farewell thing.

 

nah it sounds like it's going to be just like a self-help fest sort of thing where they do it in a few cities rather than a three month traveling tour

Not sure what you are talking about... dates are already out for the 2018 final tour

ok so you were referring to 2019 and beyond, got it. Yes I agree that it'll probably be festivals, I'm guessing it'll replace Taste of Chaos in CA at least

He forgot to add this in his statement;

*when most of our bands are being investigated for sexual allegations, we might as well throw in the towel for creating a harmful atmosphere and scene.

Riot Fest shares some bands lower on the bill that may play Warped, but they're not really very comparable festivals. Also Riot Fest only happens in one city, so maybe it's replaced it in Illinois but that's about it.

 

Honestly if this wave of stories continues to explode I wouldn't be surprised if the 2018 tour gets canceled too. I really feel awful for the kids who can only afford to go to one show and always choose Warped for that, but I really hope someone comes in and tries a similar tour that doesn't perpetuate all the garbage in the scene. Absolutely agree that Kevin needs to step down.

 

Ha, no way they'd ever cancel a whole summer of Warped Tour.

 

I mean if things keep coming out about kids being abused at the tour for years and who knew about it, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility. Summer is a long way away and we have only been seeing this start to truly unravel in the last week. We already know how horribly he has handled just the stories that were out in the open, and if it's as bad as it seems to be he could easily be disgraced along with the specific abusers he protects.
