Hopefully they come out and say/do the right thing. Never listened to the band beyond that Voldemort song which came on my Daily Mix a few times.

wanted to add my feelings/grief in with everyone else's...

starting off by saying that anything I feel is insignificant compared to the pain the victims of all this feel every day. my feelings don't mean shit compared to that and I feel guilty for even having them.

but I'm fucking angry and sad and hurt. I never thought one of my favorite bands could be involved in something like this. I had to take down my huge Daisy tour poster tonight. took my D&G masks off my shelf. not sure if I should just throw them away or burn them or hide them in storage somewhere. same with my records. I got the confirmation email today that my science fiction vinyl shipped and I don't even want it. I feel like I personally can never listen to Brand New again. I wonder if some of my favorite songs and lyrics were written about a 15 year old and I feel gross. I feel like this is a bad dream and I keep waiting to wake up.

more importantly I'm glad this is being exposed and I hope it helps the victims find peace. I hope anyone he's ever hurt is healing. I don't know what else to say. I know it doesn't matter. It's just been a rough few days and I felt like I had to comment on not only my support for the victims, but the selfish utter devastation I feel from losing one of my favorite bands of all time.

 

Had the weekend to try and process this and it still hasn’t fully sunk in. This band meant much to me. Damn

 

Just got to work where my desktop wallpaper is the cover of Deja.

I also always spin Science Fiction while I'm at work at least once.

This sucks.

 

My iPad wallpaper is the same. Hits home hard.

Jesse Lacy hanging out at the tip of Montauk Point AFTER Deja came out is just weird to me.

 

Just last week I saw someone on Reddit share a "Same Logic / Teeth" tattoo they had just gotten. Crazy.

Not that I disbelieve that account, but that specific part just seemed fishy.

For me, and maybe for others, what makes this hurt so much is the destruction of what had become a safe space for so many of us. It’s utterly ridiculous that these songs could simultaneously save some lives while ruining other lives.

I’ve never been more thankful I see a counselor regularly. I still have many things to unpack emotionally and mentally.

My memories with these songs are my own, but I don’t want to make any new memories with this band’s catalogue of music.

 

Agreed. Just learning how to process all of the information and suppress that wrongful gut reaction to defend an idol when I should be tearing it down.

Agreed. I didn’t mean weird as in to discredit the account. I meant weird that he was probably well aware that fans would go there after hearing the record.....and he would be there.
