I still like them for the most part on Daisy, but there's definitely one or two parts where maybe Jesse could have shown some restraint.

Same. I'm usually a sucker for them, but the scarcity makes it even more special when they show up here, like in "Same Logic".

 

I love No Control and I think it fits perfectly. Deviates slightly from the running theme, gives you a nice break from the gut punch the rest of the album is, and while doing so takes you on a nostalgia trip. This album is >>>>.

 

You have to read the lyrics to 137 while listening, it makes it so much more enjoyable. The theory of considering a nuclear holocaust and a higher power in brand new song is wonderful and insightful. Can't explain how much I am enjoying this.

 

Out of Mana still gets me amped as fuck every time it comes on and I've lost count of the amount of times I've listened to this album through.

I actually listen to "screaming" music all the time. I'm huge into all various forms of metal subgenres that scream constantly but with Daisy it just didn't work. It was more of an annoying scream and I kept wishing he would just stop yelling at me haha.

 

re: the title, could say that the melding of samples plus some styles they've never tried before but are melding well with what is them at their core could be a sort of Frankenstein ref.

 

Does anyone believe that Science Fiction is it's own album, then Brand New will somehow give us more music in October when LP5 drops? Obviously, I highly doubt it considering we had to wait eight years, but I have heard people speculate.

The 'I can't say it enough' bit on In The Water is beautiful, and I even think I heard some organ at that point! Jesus Christ I love this album

If they want to give us an unexpected LP6 that's cool but this is LP5.

Initially their website had a link to the album, and the tour. The album first linked to the preorder of limited vinyl and now links to the order of regular vinyl. They're the same album.

Also- if there was another album (which I doubt) it would be LP6 since this is already their fifth album

Agree that this album has elements of every Brand New LP (and the leaked demos!) yet still sounds so fresh.

I never want this band to stop making music, no matter how long it takes to release :(

 

All jokes aside. Ticket touts have to be stopped. It's getting beyond ridiculous and pricing genuine fans out of tickets is disgraceful. I think the best way I've seen so far is that the cardholder must attend the gig. I know it's not ideal if you're gifting tickets but this is the only way i can see touts being stopped.

 

People read too much into things. Everyone though Kendrick Lamar was going to release a 2nd album a week after DAMN and everyone was so sure that it was coming and had all the evidence in the world it was coming. Never came and then like two weeks later Kendrick tweeted that their was no second album. People like to come up with crazy theories.

 

It's a disgusting way people make money.

 

In the UK, Ed Sheeran made fans show 4 confirmation documents (ID, ticket, ticket order confirmation and credit card) to get into his latest tour there and didn't allow people to enter with re-sale tickets.

Not sure if it's the best method but it is at least an attempt to stopping scalpers.
