I've never understood how hostile people can get over someone choosing to be vegan. It's really not cool imo. (I'm not referring to this specific thread, just a pattern I've seen)

When you post Dril's corn cob tweet to make it seem like you're winning an argument no one is winning it's really painful to watch.

 

An organism's "fitness" and ability to retain a higher fitness with signaling does not exactly correlate to a communicative language intended with specific vernacular. Also, using such signaling to start defense pathways and mechanisms does not mean the plant is feeling emotion, or pain. Defense is one of the oldest biological traits of successful organisms.
