I'll see you again in 25 years Prestigious

Woke up to very sad news on Facebook this morning that my co-worker who was given a week on Monday passed away last night. It's going to be a very hard day at the office today. We're a small-knit group who all love and respect each other

My friend at work actually had a nice suggestion. She was known for wearing black thick rimmed glasses. He was thinking we choose a day next week where we all wear them in her honor. Thought that was a nice idea.

I'm quite late but I had a friend once sing "Nutman Nutman Nutman, that squirrel's up to somethin'" and it's all I could think of.

So sorry to hear that. Nothing can really be said to make things like that feel ok. Hopefully she is resting peacefully now.

Thank you. What makes me feel some sort of comfort is that her mom passed away a couple of years ago from the same thing. So now they're both at peace together.

Sometimes I wonder if our only real purpose in life is to bring one another peace as we slowly move towards our inevitable end

That's kind of a dark way to look at it. With that being said, I think we can all be better, and the more random acts of kindness and love that we show each other, everyone's lives can be better in the process.

You never know what one person may be going through day to day, and sometimes the smallest thing can make their day. :)

I don't think its so much dark as pragmatic. All our accomplishments, goals, successes, wants, desires, loves, all of it and everything we do will be gone inside of a century, and the earth will keep spinning. If we're "lucky", we are famous and remembered for the good we did. But more than likely, we're forgotten either way. The rite of passage and commonality we have with every other living being is that we will die. People look to religion for a purpose in life, when maybe death is the purpose in a way. A lot of that won't make linear sense, its just been tossing around in my skull this week.

Edit: sorry to be bleak, hadn't realized it was you who posted about the co-worker

You can make an impact on someone or the world though without having to be famous! It could be something as simple as teaching your children certain values that can make a world of difference.

For example(of course I'll use a Canadian as an example: Justin Trudeau is about as incredible of a politician as I can think of(IMO). He goes against the mold, and is a kind person who impacts people on a daily basis. Now, yes HE is famous, very famous. However he learned those values from his parents most likely, who learned them from somewhere and so on.

I'm sounding like a hippy here, but do you see what I'm saying. You can make an impact on someone, without getting/needing credit, or sometimes never knowing you're making that impact. Trying to be a better person every day, doing something nice for someone, even a complete stranger, it can make the world of difference to someone where to you it doesn't seem significant.

Also, as far as your edit, it's all good bud!
