i posted this once in AP with no luck:

does anyone have the HQ mp3s of "Bon Iver, Bon Iver" instrumental versions? theyre all over youtube but i can never find a place where i can download them.

me me me! but they're 192 apparently so not so HQ.... BUT!!! i did find a mediafire link that has ALL of the BI stems.

 

are these stems like... all the pieces and need to be put together?... i would take your 192 though haha!

this makes sense now, didn't they release all the stems for a remix contest? so the instrumentals are probably just what someone put together using those.

 

Yeah thats what it was for. I love that people put the songs together without the vocals though.

 

I'm in the process of doing this now. I really like having the ability to remix some of the songs and make a rediculous experimental/post-rock album out of this.

For sure! It's still just an instrumental version of the songs. I'm not adding anything. But with Perth, for example, I just played a bit with levels and panning and I think I brought out a bit more of the background noise and instruments that get buried by the guitars.

Damn guys. I worked on Perth and Holocene today. I think the mixes sound really good, so I'll see what I can do for the rest of the record, and bounce everything down to .wav for your listening pleasure. Not promising revolutionary changes, but I hope my instrumental/remixed take will be at least worth the time you take to listen. Thanks so much for the interest!
